What do you think the Wolfgang rework will do?

Recommended Posts

Do you think Wolfgang's rework will add onto Wolfgang's mighty mode? replace it entirely? Perhaps it may have something to do with his phobias, making them a more prominent downside. Personally, I hope Wolfgang's rework adds on to his mighty and wimpy forms, perhaps changing the activation requirements. Another user has suggested the idea to let Wolfgang just throw his pals away from his dumb and stinky face.

I'm just curious to see what people think the Wolfgang Refresh will add.

I'm calling it right now, it's probably gonna involve him being able to go mighty for only a short time as a power. Maybe an item or consumable. Maybe an ability with a cool down, who knows. Perhaps he, like Woodie, will get different forms based on what he's needed for.

As long as they don't add something lazy like "workout to be mighty now" or a mighty meter that replaces his hunger we should be fine.

If they add a new tab, they should add food-based items to it (like a new hambat, or a special powder he can add to foods like Warly can). Not because his personality is based on food but because he used to work at a circus. I always imagined him as he would do a bunch of workout shows then eat lots of food during his stage.

I also think he has a beloved item that he always gets out of the box and smiles by looking at it. It could be a souvenier, it could be a toy, whatever it is I feel like we are going to see it in his new tab along with his own hunger-reducing item.

It would also be cool if they added the long waited feature: Wolfgang can carry Piggybacks, statues and stuff like those with no penalty when mighty.

It would also be cool if they added something useful to his Wimpy form like they did with Wanda's old and youngest ages.

Maybe he has fully stable sanity when he is in normal form, but a 33% more sanity loss during mighty form, and normal hunger drain during whimpy form.

Well, considering Klei takes fan feedback heavily into consideration when reworking the characters and several posts about suggestions for what he should be able to do have been reacted to by Devs- I’m going to say something along those lines?? Maybe?

Although there were suggestions I made awhile back ago for things I wanted Charlie if she ever became playable to do, that Klei later used on Wanda so just because they “like” something doesn’t mean they’ll use it in the way you suggest it.

I kinda feel like Wanda is broken now BECAUSE of my suggestion (piled on top of all her other perks) but it is what it is..

That said I’ve voiced time and time again what I want to see from Wolfgang & I’m sure Klei will deliver what the majority of fans want to see.

I think what would be cool is in mighty form he’s a bit slower moving but hits like a truck (classic tank class in any MoBA), and when in wimpy skinny form he moves faster- like flash from Justice League.

So what the majority of fans want to see, Unless the Majority of fans want to see him remain mostly exactly the same because he’s “fine as is & doesn’t need changes”

Klei Wigfrid went from being my 2nd most played character to my 5th BELOW WES and because no other reason besides other character reworks were far more fun.. shouldn’t that set off alarm bells somewhere that Wigfrid got a rotten deal?

Ahem anyway.. complaints aside- I fully and 109% expect the forums to erupt into Chaos come December-

If Wolfgang stays largely the same people who wanted him reworked will complain.

If they change him and former Wolfgang mains no longer like him then they will complain because he was changed too much.

And If he gets cool new fun gameplay and combat abilities when Wigfrid remained mostly “perfect as is” you can bet the Wigfrid mains voices will be heard louder than any sheet music she’s ever belted out her vocal cords.

i just hope they don't change him too much and give him some little perks like no speed penalty while carrying statues in mighty form and some little nerfs like recovering half the sanity from killing shadow creatures. if, however, klei decides to introduce some new mechanics, i would like to see some sort of mightiness meter.

my idea for this would be the meter filling up by eating non-crockpot dishes. this would 1) stop spamming meatballs, 2) give crop foods and berry bush farms more uses, 3) keep the running gag of wolfgang emptying the fridge for damage and 4) result in an even more engaging gameplay experience. to compensate for reliance on non-crockpot dishes, wolfgang should get a bigger damage modifier though, which i think might upset some players but i think it would balance his upsides more than the current state of his mechanics. of course wolfgang shouldn't get any damage modifiers if he isn't above 225 hunger even when his mightiness meter is full, but maybe get the speed modifier with a full mightiness meter when he is in regular form.

all that said, i think wolfgang is a fun character that can be balanced easily with little tweaks without the need for nerfing his upsides, and should stay as the strong boi amongst the other survivors. thanks for listening to my ted talk.

I personally think it's not going to be that big. Maybe actually giving him a bigger downside (more sanity problems or an entire sanity rework?), and maybe tweaking a couple things here and there.

I’ve personally seen in discussions of Wolfgang that people tend to focus on reworking his mighty form. While I think changing Wolfgang’s mighty form to be a much more interesting mechanic is a great idea, I would also really enjoy if Wolfgang had some new circus-related tools added to his arsenal. I believe I’ve said this in the past, but I feel like there’s a whole lot of missed potential with Wolfgang, considering he’s a communist war veteran strongman from the circus, while his perks barely reflect that. While there is a risk of turning into another Walter, where all of his perks are connected to his character instead of connected to eachother through gameplay, I think there’s some potential for some serious fun circus and acrobatics-related shenanigans.

I agree on the circus-related mechanics. Correct me if I'm wrong but Klei haven't touched this character since Strange New Powers. Because of that, Wolfgang is a really one-dimentional character. Considering most of the reworked characters so far have got their new powers from their pasts, we'll most likely get a circus crafting tab for him.

I wish it was something simple, not adding any tabs or meters.

Being mighty should require decent sanity and nutrition, while his fears should impact grealty in his sanity loss. It would be nice if he could move structures (with some more accuracy than we move statues). He shouldn't get speed buffs from this, if anything, a speed nerf.

Wimpy form should give him a speed boost. Being a scary cat is all about running away.

If you equip something else in your chest slot, you drop statues right at your feet vs them picking a random direction.

You can also just quick drop them nowadays.

Probably something having to do with helping strengthen yourself and other potential players. Like workout equipment or heavier weapons to increase your strength by a lot of other survivors strength temporarily. Kindof a Mr. Atlas deal.

Guys the thing about “Simple reworks” is for Xbox & Playstation players & PC players who don’t use mods at all- These character reworks have been Klei’s way of providing those of us without mods.. Exciting fresh new ways to play the game..

We don’t want for example Wes to play largely the same as he always has, we want cool Zoom around the map speedy balloons that deflat over time, we want cool Balloon hats that protect us from rain and lightning strikes (the very same lightning strikes we now attract like a human lightning Rod)

Its a darned Shame Wigfrid continued to remain largely the same as she always played while every other character besides her got cool new exciting fun abilities, craftables, interactions with the world etc..

But I believe Klei has learned from that, it’s unfortunate it has to be Wigfrid that got the rotten deal- But after Webber & Wes I am Confident Klei can deliver exciting new gameplay with Wolfgang. & not a

“He’s Fine as Is leave him alone approach”
