base and dlc codebase differences

when attempt to update my mod for dlc spaced out, i saw code samples from other who have done for the dlc, it hints the base and dlc codebase are different.
means i have to compile 2 separate mods, 1 for base, and another for spaced out?

does klei has plan to change/rectify this, or this is how it will be onward?

you could try make it work also in both versions

if your mod doesnt mess with the parts of the code that are different in dlc vs vanilla you can have one mod that supports both game versions
