They aready sold Dont Starve IP to chinese so they can make completely garbage mobile game. I am not surprised about this deal since Klei already made all the shitty deals. This is a very concerning move from Klei; while I understand the desire to keep Klei employees financially stable enough to let their creativity flourish (after all, Klei has an exceptional reputation when it comes to treating their workers right), I have the opposite level of faith for Tencent's exceptionally anti-consumer reputation much like everyone else in this thread. I was definitely not a fan of the Blitzchung incident, and I hope that asanine level of censorship doesn't bleed into our community. I really hope data security is also included in the "full autonomy of creative and operations across all aspects of the studio". Codedependent Posted January 25, 2021 Share Posted January 25, 2021 I recently bought around 15 copies of ONI in the last couple of months to give to friends because A) I wanted to share the game with them because I am a mega fan and because of how Klei's early access of ONI played out, and B) I wanted to financially support Klei, and I have been a regular vociferous supporter of theirs all over every discord I am a member of...but this news has me seriously regretting all of that. I havent heard any exclusivity with Mac App Store just with Apple Arcade service. All the games in Apple Arcade are available ONLY trough Apple Arcade, not even trough macOS/iOS stores, only with Apple Arcade subscription Not even Klei said anything about Apple Arcade exclusivity which sucks big time so thats why IDK if this exclusivity is times but Apple Arcade is here for long time so i dont have high hopes. Although I am saddened by this decision, I understand that they need more funds and that there may not be any way that we could talk them out of it. All I ask of them is to stay vigilant to stay in control and none of this changes the base formula/plan of the game that we fell in love within the first place. KLei had deviated from the belief that they originally founded the company that provided players with a better platform for their creativity. The image of Don't Starve New Home is awful.
