I go back and forth myself. Sometimes I'll set up permanent suits, sometimes I'll seal the base via suit docks, sometimes I'll just build a set of docks at the oil biome and call it a day. LucidFugue Posted February 25, 2020 Share Posted February 25, 2020 I tend to enjoy developing to improve efficiency. My first priority after toilets and food is getting automated power. I get off hamster wheels as soon as I can. I use a rock crusher to get just enough refined metal for the automation wire and smart battery, dig out and place my power plant. I think I got it down to about cycle 10 or so but it has been a while since I started fresh. After that I usually go for plumbing so my dupes don't have to clean toilets and flip compost. At some point research stops being a bottleneck and I'm waiting for one of my dupes to qualify for mechatronics engineer. That starts a run of automating stuff to save even more on dupe time.
