The phase of the medium doesn't matter. The mass doesn't matter (for the heat transfer rate). k_min is the smaller of the two thermal conductivities and ΔT is the difference in temperature. There are checks for clamping and equilibrium. Duplicants are debris and have a modifier for thickness of their clothes. Wheezeworts and possibly other entities have special modifiers.
