Superwolfkid Posted October 22, 2019 Share Posted October 22, 2019 I don't know if your schedule is busy(or if my request will be possible from you) But, I'm working on a concept/rework for an unimplemented feature from the beginning of the game (the very very start of Dont starve) called the shopkeeper. Spoiler He looks like this. I've wanted to make a drawing to represent my concept but I haven't actually drawn in a while, and I don't have the proper tools/Budget to go anywhere further with my design. Here's how I sort of imagine my concept to look like. To not put in too many spoilers for it, Its suppose to give off a sad, mourning vibe, the artsyle is based off of the one in the return of them trailer. I made a advice tab in the forums twice and I sadly failed on both drawings I asked advice for because I'm limited with my supplies to computer paper, mechanical pencils and colored pencils(I can't color for scratch), I kind of feel ashamed honestly. So, if you ever have the time, could you please help me with this? Don't doubt your tools No your fine! You have very good advice and your a great artist! It's just I never really gotten that serious with drawing like you do. I usually draw more for fun in a way then serious, I never really draw for people so I guess the stress got to me since I had people who were actually professionals at drawing art like you were giving me advice, and I didn't really want to mess up/ disappoint you guys. Art is a hard thing to keep passionate about if you compare yourself to other artists. I did your requests in a waterproof pen and watercolors to show that you can make amazing stuff on normal cheap stuff! Keep drawing and experimenting with different media’s and you’ll see improvement! Black and White drawings can be your style. Every artist isn’t good at all elements of art! I suck at coloring detailed pictures. Simple stuff is more of my forte. Your doodle you showed me is really nice! Wilson looks nice and the mystery person looks good too! Save up money to buy artist pens and experiment on doing inked art and crosshatching and other pen techniques! You’ve got skill! Keep exploring your art style and improving. Remember, don’t EVER compare yourself to other artists. Every artist hates their work to some degree, trust me!
