How much chlorine/second does a dasha saltvine consume?

I've found it! They consume 6 grams of chlorine a second, equating to 3.6 kg of chlorine a cycle!!

Ah yes, the tooltips. They're your friends.

Just looked at the ingame database:

Do saltvins still consume chlorine?

[The ingame database suggest they just need a chlorine atmosphere and only consume sand.]

Can you find saltvine seeds on planets? I have tons of rust in my rime map but no salt or saltvine.

@Lilalaunekuh yes, they do consume it.

I love consistent information ...

[When the ingame tooltips and ingame wiki differ ...]

Like antiseptic plastic or powerless shutoff valves ...

The in-game codex is automatically generated  based on certain components and properties the object has -- looks like it is correct except for the fact that it doesn't take into account the new behavior, not earlier present in other plants so the codex was not even checking for it
