No real reason for such a machine when most resources are renewable. The output is too small to mattr for most uses and if it was bigger it would be bad for the game as it would remove entire production chains that rely on changing one material into another.

Only real reason for it would be to get neede resources that don`t appear on the map (like Arboria lacking gold) but then it wouldn`t work since you have to discover the material. Rather than that we should be using geysers and meteors and eventually rockets to get extra resources.

2000W hahaha.

I might be wrong, but according to e=mc^2 it would require at least 90 petajoules(15 zeros) of energy to create 1kg of something. It would be fair price for 1 kg of any resource, but none will pay such price(unless it is 1kg of antimatter...).
