Music thread

...I really shouldn't listen to music like this while drawing. I'm inseparably in writer mode when I do anything of a creative nature...and with how my imagination works, music creates story scenes rather automatically.

Despite knowing of the music for quite some time now, I never touched this mod until recently.

Terraria Calamity - Antarctic Reinforcement:

Spoiler

It's going to be so dumb when I finally get to fleshing out this plot point and I love it.

Actually, I only ever found out about DM/those songs/that mod because of his Cave Story mixes years prior...which he ended up using the soundfont from for the mod music.
And rediscovered him because of the better known Reality Check Through The Skull, hehe.

Cave Story Arranged - Last Battle (Ballos Mix):

Spoiler

God, remixes aside, that game was wonderful. Ended up finding it before any of the re-releases, and the style and the music and everything about it just...really did it for me.

Holy transitions Batman.

lol man, you've always got the weirdest deepest cut tracks. Where do you even find this stuff?! I get others posting video game or anime music, but you always find the most random stuff. I can't even fathom what your personal playlist looks like.

How do you feel about this weird stuff.

I've been listening to Gary Clark Jr. this morning. I've heard a lot of good things about this guy so I finally took the time to give him a fair shake.

GCJ - Pearl Caddilac

Spoiler

GCJ - This Land

Spoiler

GCJ - Bright Lights

Spoiler

It's hit or miss for me on a song to song basis. His blues is amazing, and he can really shred, but songs like Pearl Caddilac don't do much for me. I like parts of This Land, but it gets repetitive quick. Dude is obviously extremely talented, but it's mostly not my cup of tea.

A crazy music thing happened today.

I was interviewing a new candidate today over the phone who already knew the job and was transferring from a contractor in California. I live in Kansas. I had conferenced in our other manager because this interview was more just to see if we liked the guy or not. Question #2 is what the candidate's interests or hobbies are. He gave the typical "spending time with friends and family" answer and that he enjoyed going to concerts. I said, "Oh cool, who'd you go see?".

"Some band, Dance Gavin Dance, you probably haven't--"

"WHAT DID YOU JUST SAY!?

"Uh, Dance Gavin Dance?"

"Well, congrats man! You're hired. That's literally my favorite band."

We all had a good laugh about to wild odds of that being his response. Talking more I found out he was AT their last show here in Kansas! Out of the MAYBE 300 people that were at that show, one of them happens to be a guy from Califronia looking for a job in Kansas from a guy that was also at that show.

It's a small world friends.
