I've never been a fan of classic Metal oddly enough, but I have to give the OG's credit for laying the groundwork for everything we know now as Metal.

I do like this song by them though

Spoiler

BONUS GOOF: I was in a band 10 years ago and slipped this nerd gem in with no one catching it. The lyrics are all about Final Fantasy Tactics and the War of the Lions. Got em.

So you think you can stone me and spit in my eye?
So you think you can love me and leave me to die?
Oh, baby, can't do this to me, baby!
Just gotta get out, just gotta get right outta here!

I walk a lonely road
The only one that I have ever known
Don't know where it goes
But it's home to me, and I walk alone
I walk this empty street
On the Boulevard of broken dreams
Where the city sleeps
And I'm the only one, and I walk alone...

Speaking of Angst

Spoiler

No one really knows the ones they love
If you knew everything they thought
I bet that you would wish that they'd just shut up
Well, you were the dull sound of sharp math
When you were alive
No one's going to play the harp when you die
And if I had a nickel for every damn dime
I'd have half the time, do you mind?
Everyone's afraid of their own lives
If you could be anything you want
I bet you'd be disappointed, am I right?
Am I right, am I right, am I right?
Am I right, am I right, am I right?
And it's our lives
It's hard to remember, it's hard to remember
We're alive for the first time
It's hard to remember, it's hard to remember
We're alive

Lmao. That is one of the highest tier rewards for completing a game I've ever seen.

Here's some more golden emo oldies:

Cursive - Sierra

Spoiler
  1. 1 of 4

  2. 2 of 4
    In the desert,
Where the cities are made of gold,
There's a girl playing hopscotch with pink ribbon pigtails.
And her mom calls out from an apartment balcony,
    "Come on, baby!
    Your bath is ready!
    It's almost time for sleep!"
And I wonder, who's the father
And I wonder what they call her-Sierra
Does her mother smoke or does she jog every morning?
    Does she drink
    When she thinks about me
Or doesn't she need to drink?
    Does she have a man
Who works a nine to five
    Does he come home
To kiss our young sierra, tuck her in
    And say goodnight?
And an extra kiss for mama
I want that kiss, that kid, that apartment
I'm ready to settle down now
So get that man out of my bed
I want my daughter back now
I want to kiss her, tuck her in, and say, "goodnight, my baby girl"
    Sierra
    Sierra
    Sierra
    Sierra
    Sierra
    I'll never know
    Know who you are
    And I don't deserve to
    Sierra
    Sierra
    Sierra
    Sierra
    My little girl
We would have been so, oh, nevermind
But I'm ready to settle down now
Yeah I'm ready to leave that wrecking ball behind
    I could be your carpenter,
And you could be my twinkling north star o'er the desert sky.

Andrew Landon - Undying Love

Spoiler

Play "Undying Love"
on Amazon Music

Well I saw a king
Drown himself in a creek
Just to tell her
But when he was gone
He had no breath left to tell her
His undying love
His undying love

Well I heard the queen flung herself from the walls of the castle
But in the midst of her fall
She regretted it all
But it was too late
Her undying grief
Was her own life's thief

Well kings and queens know not about love
They sink like a stone in their mind
Just steep

Well im no king and ive no golden crown to adorn a king
But I'm not asking you fall
Except in love with me
Oh just, please fall
In undying love, in undying love

well you and i know not
wat it means
lets sink like two stones, in love
well kings and queens dont no about love
they sink like a stone
in thier mind
just steep
you and i know not what it means
Let's sink like two stones in love

'Cause kings and queens know not about love
they sink like two stones in their minds
just steep

Enough sap, here's a mood balancer:

I understand your point, but usually I like listen diverse genres and bands, no matter how different they could be. And Im listening the songs posted here by everybody, is interesting.

Hey! Hey! Hey!
I don't like walking around this old and empty house
"So hold my hand, I'll walk with you my dear"
The stairs creak as I sleep, It's keeping me awake
"It's the house telling you to close your eyes"
And some days I can't even trust myself
"It's killing me to see you this way..."

Hello darkness, my old friend
I've come to talk with you again
Because a vision softly creeping
Left its seeds while I was sleeping
And the vision that was planted in my brain
Still remains
Within the sound of silence...

Lyrics:

Spoiler

If your love's a courage
I can be helped
Go on do your worst
I’m under your spell
Hold me till it hurts
I close my eyes
Wrap me in your wings
And say you’re mine

I won't ever let you slip away
From my hands, from my hands
It's like I'm in a dream, when I'm awake
Calling your name, calling your name
And I'll keep reaching, holding on
'Cause I will never let you slip away
From my hands, from my hands

Like a smoking gun
I burn for you
Baby we can run
Got nothing to lose

I will never let you slip away
From my hands, from my hands
It's like I'm in a dream, when I'm awake
Calling your name, calling your name
And I'll keep reaching, holding on
'Cause I will never let you slip away
From my hands, from my hands

You’re my sun in the night
You will keep me alive
The reason my heart pounds
I will never die
You shine like a prize
You take me so high
And I will no more cry
Miles away inside

I will never let you slip away
From my hands, from my hands
It's like I'm in a dream, when I'm awake
Calling your name, calling your name
And I'll keep reaching, holding on
'Cause I will never let you slip away
From my hands, from my hands

I will never let you slip away
I will never let you slip away
I'll keep reaching, holding on
'Cause I will never let you slip away
From my hands, from my hands

Keepin' the music alive, maaaan.

Here's some goodies that came up for me this week.

Ocean Breathes Salty - Modest Mouse

Spoiler

Your body may be gone, I'm gonna carry you in.
In my head, in my heart, in my soul.
And maybe we'll get lucky and we'll both live again.
Well I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. Don't think so.

Well that is that and this is this.
You tell me what you want and I'll tell you what you get.
You get away from me. You get away from me.
Collected my belongings and I left the jail.
Well thanks for the time, I needed to think a spell.
I had to think awhile. I had to think awhile.

The ocean breathes salty, won't you carry it in?
In your head, in your mouth, in your soul.
And maybe we'll get lucky and we'll both grow old.
Well I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I hope so.

Well that is that and this is this.
You tell me what you want and I'll tell you what you get.
You get away from me. (You get away from me) You get away from me.
Collected my belongings and I left the jail.
Well thanks for the time, I needed to think a spell.
I had to think awhile. (I had to think awhile) I had to think awhile.

Well that is that and this is this.
Will you tell me what you saw and I'll tell you what you missed,
when the ocean met the sky. (You missed, you missed)
You missed when time and life shook hands and said goodbye. (You missed)
When the earth folded in on itself. (You missed)
And said "Good luck, for your sake I hope heaven and hell (You missed, you missed)
are really there, but I wouldn't hold my breath." (You missed, you missed)
You wasted life, why wouldn't you waste death? (You missed, you missed)
You wasted life, why wouldn't you waste death?

The ocean breathes salty, won't you carry it in?
In your head, in your mouth, in your soul.
The more we move ahead the more we're stuck in rewind.
Well I don't mind. I don't mind. How the hell could I mind?

Well that is that and this is this.
You tell me what you want and I'll tell you what you get.
You get away from me. (You get away from me) You get away from me.

Well that is that and this is this.
Will you tell me what you saw and I'll tell you what you missed,
when the ocean met the sky. (You missed, you missed)
You wasted life, why wouldn't you waste the afterlife?

And I Told Them I Invented Times New Roman - Dance Gavin Dance

Spoiler

But now you know that I am cold
(Take me out now, I've dropped the mast down)
And now I am found
(Take me out now, I've dropped the mast down)

(Whispering)

Duck down, then hide, behind the file cabinet
Duck down, then hide, behind the file cabinet, down
And without ever letting go I knew you'd gone
Duck down, then hide, behind the file cabinet
Duck down, then hide, behind the file cabinet, down
And without ever letting go I knew you'd gone astray
Stranded here in this cold atmosphere.
Waiting for the lifeless words to come from your mouth
Enduring every sound

This is not why the cast is hollow
Sending the rats to follow
Under the weight of all these eyes
Fry

But now you know that I am cold
(Take me out now, I've dropped the mast down)
And now I am found
(Take me out now, I've dropped the mast down)

I lay without understanding
I don't know why I feel this way
Oh lay down girl take my world
I know why I can't see your face
I've placed every mole there is to place on your wasted body
Oh, lay down girl and take my world
I know why I can't see your face

As the window left shattered now
We saw the withered body try to shout
You thought the price of your life was devout
And told us some things you can't live without
And was this what was best for us
And was this what was best for us

Just let it show (Rest where you ought to be)
(Block out your misery)
I'll bring you far (Wait for the call)
Well I'll go for it (You left in the hallway)
I'll beg you when you know (People they change)
(And I would still be ashamed)
I'll beg you when it shows (To let the weight of the world)
Well I'll go for it (Rest on your shoulders)
I don't believe the lies (I'll fight until the war is over)
I don't believe the lies (I'll fight until the war is over)
I'll die for you (I'll fight until the war is over)
(I'll fight until the war is over)
I don't believe the lies (I'll fight until the war is over)
I don't believe the lies (I'll fight until the war is over)
It's staged for you (I'll fight until the war is over)
(I'll fight until the war is over)

Left at my feet rests the soul of my brother
Vengeance will fall for the deeds of another

Words I Never Said - Lupe Fiasco ft. Skylar Grey

Spoiler

[Skylar Grey]
It's so loud Inside my head
With words that I should have said!
Its so loud inside my head
With words that I should've said
As I drown in my regrets
I can't take back the words I never said
I can't take back the words I never said

[Lupe Fiasco]
I really think the war on terror is a bunch of bull
Just a poor excuse for you to use up all your bullets
How much money does it take to really make a full clip
9/11 building 7 did they really pull it
Uhh, And a bunch of other cover ups
Your childs future was the first to go with budget cuts
If you think that hurts then, wait here comes the uppercut
The school was garbage in the first place, that's on the up and up
Keep you at the bottom but tease you with the uppercrust
You get it then they move it so you never keeping up enough
If you turn on TV all you see's a bunch of “what is up”
Dude is dating so and so blabbering bout such and such
And that ain't Jersey Shore, homie that's the news
And these the same people that supposed to be telling us the truth
Limbaugh is a racist, Glenn Beck is a racist
Gaza strip was getting bombed, Obama didn't say "nix"
That's why I ain't vote for him, next one either
I'ma part of the problem, my problem is I'm peaceful
And I believe in the people

[Skylar Grey]
It's so loud inside my head
With words that I should have said!
As I drown in my regrets
I can't take back the words I never said
I can't take back the words I never said

[Lupe Fiasco - Verse 2]
Now you can say it ain't our fault if we never heard it
But if we know better than we probably deserve it
Jihad is not a holy war, wheres that in the worship?

Murdering is not Islam!
And you are not observant
And you are not a muslim
Israel don't take my side cause look how far you've pushed them
Walk with me into the ghetto, this where all the Kush went
Complain about the liquor store but what you drinking liquor for?
Complain about the gloom but when'd you pick a broom up?
Just listening to Pac ain't gone make it stop
A rebel in your thoughts, ain't gon make it halt
If you don't become an actor you'll never be a factor
Pills with million side effects
Take em when the pains felt
Wash them down with Diet soda!
Killin off your brain cells
Crooked banks around the World
Would gladly give a loan today
So if you ever miss a payment
They can take your home away!

[Skylar Grey]
It's so loud inside my head
With words that I should have said!
As I drown in my regrets
I can't take back the words I never said, never said
I can't take back the words I never said

[Lupe Fiasco - Verse 3]
I think that all the silence is worse than all the violence
Fear is such a weak emotion that's why I despise it
We scared of almost everything, afraid to even tell the truth
So scared of what you think of me, I'm scared of even telling you
Sometimes I'm like the only person I feel safe to tell it to
I'm locked inside a cell in me, I know that there's a jail in you
Consider this your bailing out, so take a breath, inhale a few
My screams is finally getting free, my thoughts is finally yelling through

I'm currently in a bunch of campaigns with my friends in several different RPG's, and I love listening to music as we'd fight an ogre or meet the goddess of death and stuff. I just ran into this beautiful, catchy D&D song.

I also just found this youtube channel called Aviators and he makes really cool fantasy rock.

I'm a big fan of using modern acoustic or folk artists as different Bard bands playing in taverns. Helps "cool" up the place when the players hear more han the classic bard tavern songs. Here's some I've used:

Lewis Del Mar - Loud(y)

Spoiler

Maggie Rogers - Alaska

Spoiler

Yvette Young - Ares

Spoiler

My homebrew D&D world edges on an industrial revolution so it's a touch more steampunky.

Bonus: I find myself singing this throughout the day randomly. Damn you Riegel!

Was watching Cinema Snob and remembered this classic. Would love to hear Tom Waits to cover it. Reminds me of Tom Waits's Bone Machine and Real Gone albums.

Spoiler

Speaking of Tom Waits, would love to hear him do most instrumentals. His instrumental stuff varies on aimless wandering or a gentle lullaby like his track "fawn" in Alice.
