  • Biography
Something of a free spirit and a free thinker, bound by the shackles of logic, reason, and science (and finding peace, solace, and happiness therein).

I spend my time socializing with friends, engaging in assorted entertainment from playing RPGs (Pen-and-Paper style, the old school), watching sitcoms/documentaries/movies, to conducting assorted philosophical discourse. I can almost always be found with my wife, Samanatha, and am looking forward to a long, happy, and healthy life with her.

I work in the I.T. field professionally, and independently work in web development and media production. I am the co-founder of Other Family Network, LLC which occupies a considerable portion of my time.

  1. I believe this is exactly how the setting is supposed to work. Changing Resources means resources will swap out for their alternates over time (Saplings and Twiggy Trees, Berry Bushes and Juicy Berry Bushes, etc). If you do not want that behavior, I think the Default option is None (and there is also a None option to be sure).
  2. I am not so certain it is always a one or the other situation. My experiences having generated two worlds now with the new feature set to Default on both: Grass Geckos and Grass will both spawn on maps (both maps I have made have had this happen). Berry Bushes and Juicy Berry Bushes seem to be a one or the other situation (two worlds, one had Juicy and the other regular - not both). Twiggy Trees/Ground Twigs and Saplings seem to be a one or the other (two worlds, one with Saplings and one with Twiggy Trees/Ground Twigs but have not had both). Only ever seen normal Rocks loaded in and have not had a single Petrified Tree show yet (though these I have heard change over the course of play via the Changing Resources setting). So, really, my only basis is the Grass side of things, as both maps I have made since the update have included both at the Default settings while the others are either a no show or a swap out for an older resource.
  3. Multiple instances of the Glommer icon show up on the map sometimes. Going back to the area causes them to disappear. Not sure what caused it, but I had used the pan flute a couple times in this area while Glommer was following me. I did have a couple mods running at the time, but nothing that messes with the map.
  4. I can also confirm that I have seen this happen in the game as well, and that it appears to be somewhat random (though I have noticed somewhat of a link with the sprite change needing to happen when a world effect like lightning or wind bursts kick off at the same time, but I have seen it happen outside of these instances as well though there could be other background processing kicking off in those instances that I am not aware of).
  5. I think it is a good feature personally, makes absolute sense
