Arlesienne
As far as I know, you can't use copyrighted characters etc. for commercial purposes without a legal agreement with Klei. AKA if it's sold, it's not fine. But ask @JoeW to make sure it's the case. I can't read kanji.
Kittydub
I don't think this is considered official merchandise..
. . .
About time Don't Starve embraced its inner anime! And I really hope Klei doesn't sue him for selling fanart :/ ...

Arlesienne
Just now, minespatch said: So paintings and doodles are okay but can you explain? It's about fanart and commercial works. You create fanart while praising Klei. Here, somebody uses their chars to make money. Which is a no-no. Fanart is good, but must be free.

I don't want to say "this is allowed" and "this isn't" as I'm not from the Klei staff, those are just my two cents. Let's wait for @JoeW, @Corey or another dev to address this. JoeW
These are the rules: https://www.kleientertainment.com/mod-player-creation-policy Essentially, if it's not being mass produced, we're cool with it. But there is also a lot of counterfeit stuff out there, which is why we're providing item codes so people know what is genuine. Stuff like this is tricky because if we ever say something is allowed, it really puts us in a rough place legally. So we have to basically say, "follow the rules" rather than giving explicit permission without a contract. -- I do believe @Corey is talking to the person who makes those cool standups though. minespatch
Ahhh, okay. So my painting of a mermhouse is under terms but not mass production. Got it.

Arlesienne
If @Corey is taking care of the legal intricacies, should this be moved into Art and Lore for now? @ImDaMisterL, here's lookin' at ya.
