All of the hints are randomly generated by code. So just keep spawning in trinkets and boats and you should be able to get it all.

Won't work you get a piece for every type of trinket and the piece is the same no matter how many times you give that type of trinket .

Guess Klei was so gung-ho about the puzzle, they forgot to code some bits... I found Flotsam in the land.

"Wish there was a way to pull it in"

IT'S RIGHT THERE WILSON PICK IT UP

BTW: "Spiraled, this armor was not made"

So mine were:

or spiraled, this armor was not
vessel of potential, potential no more
hold, I move as if in
stone, smaller than a pebble, yet
me to every new person you

So, to compile that with existing clues (aww I only added to one of them):

(...) plated or spiraled, this armor was not made by man.
A vessel of potential, potential no more. What once was loved, we (...)
(...) made the new one I hold, I move as if in ocean's fold.

(...) me to every new person you meet, but I still remain yours and sound so (...)

The quickest way to get your clues is to just enter this on the main screen, in the console:

for i=1,5 do print(TheSim:GetSailorClue(i)) end

Ignore the "false" parts at the end of each line

Edit: I think I figured out the card things on http://dontstarvegame.com/wolly/ . Each time it shows a different card, which shows one of the sunket boat trinkets. So here are the trinkets:

1 - sextant

2 - toy boat

3 - soaked candle

4 - sea worther

5 - old boot

My guess is that we need to something as described by the complete clue for the particular trinket shown on the currently displayed card. So...

Sextant: Hinged, plated or spiraled, this armor was not made by man.

-- a shell? "shell" and "seashell" don't seem to work, though

Toy Boat: A vessel of potential, potential no more. What once was loved, we now abhor.

-- this has to be about a boat... a sunken boat...

Soaked Candle: (...) made the new one I hold, I move as if in ocean's fold.

-- ??

Sea Worther: Smaller than a stone, smaller than a pebble, yet I cover great expanses.

-- water?

Old Boot: (...) give me to every new person you meet, but I still remain yours and sound so (...)

-- ??

Also, @rezecib:

for i = 1, 5, 1 do print(TheSim:GetSailorClue(i)) end
