Let's Make Suggestions For/Fantasize about Mark Of The Ninja 2

Greetings fellow Ninjas! Chances are, if your reading this thread, on this tiny forum, you know why you're here: You adored MOTN, are desperate for a sequel, and think you know the best direction for the sequel to go despite having no developing experience whatsoever. Well fear not, you've come to the right place!

Note that Klei has announced that MOTN was intended to be a complete and compact experience and as such has no real plans for a sequel (yet).

But let's not worry about that now! We, the fans of MOTN want to hear your suggestions and compile them in one place for the developers to peruse! For the sake of Organisation I suggest you use the following format: Comment, elements to Bring On, elements to Tone Down, and elements you think should be added: Additions, if you don't mind. Happy, erm, commenting, ninjas!

Bring On!

The Feudal-Japan-Mixed-With-Spy-Films aesthetic. I was extremely excited from the moment I saw the beautiful steam screenshots, and am honestly a little dissapointed with how little was done with the concept, not only was the whole Feudal Japan in Modern Day thing only used for the ninjas themselves, but only the first world was set in Pseudo-Japan at all! What the heck is that!?

I wanted to see Japanese castles towering 20 stories, equipped with superfluous 90's spy film technology, gigantic metropolises sporting architecture from all throughout Japanese history, guards wearing samurai gear made out of polymere and whatever, outposts set up in forests outside temples and-you get the idea.

Giving The Guards A Personality The guards present throughout most of the game were by far my favourite charactors in the game: so much more human than the guards of most games, not least because of the mechanic through which guards would become terrorised when witnessing seemingly supernatural or horrific events. In future I'd like to see more oppurtunities for the guards to reveal their charming personalites, without becoming too hard to brutally murder :).

Tone Down!

The "Story": MOTN, you are not really a piece of modern art yet, not even close; nor are you an epic anime film straight out of the Ghibli collection. So stop. Frigging. Acting like one. (b****)

The Allies Being alone in enemy territory is a beautiful feeling, equal parts empowering and terrifying. It's also completely ruined whenever your utterly unlikable and bland companion chimes in to tell you what to do and how to do it without offering any actual help herself. Grrr.

The Gore I may be a hardened assassin who will gladly kill, trick, and maul my way to my goals, but I absolutely cannot stand the sight of all that disgusting blood! Eugh!

Additions

A different kind of presentation: Everyone loves an amnesiac hero! (What? not everyone?) Ah well I do.

Mostly because they're just as un-in-control as you are. Yes... an amnesiac assassin who recieves mysterious notes written on papyrus from unseen "allies" who somehow always know where you are without ever being seen, on the run, afraid, and with terrifying friends breathing down his (or her) kneck, Hehehehehe, I like that, I like that a lot.

I think it should be set way back in time, back in the days of the samurai. Using the old tools the ninjas used to, have the story about how the ninja clans started. I think that would be a great idea for the sequel. A ninja stealth game set in this period would be pretty cool.

This would be amazing, I would definitely support this.

They could even put it on kickstarter, I'm sure it would be a huge success.
