RabbitsMurderer
As most of the players coming back to the game from the beta version, I was clueless on the new aspects of the game, which made the game harder and more challenging.I was able to adapt to the game and was able to make it to day 75, yaay But I have never really had an interest in explore caves, they seemed worthless, it's so dangerous exploring them, dark, creepy monsters and the resources you find there are not that worthy, so why leave your peaceful land base with full protection and resources that provides much necessities for survival and go explore a dark cave with monsters?Tell me if I got the idea of caves wrong, or if it's really worth discovering. Mobbstar
They're pretty good for a few awesome things, but other than that more like a challenge than a gold mine... Lantern. A trustworthy light source you can hold or drop when needed. Nightmare fuel. It's everywhere down here! Bunnymen. They're quite useful in contrast to pigmen. Oh, and maybe that turret if you place it carefully. EDIT: @Wusscake *cough cough* not DST *cough* Good points though.
Wusscake
To add on to what Mobbstar said, I've never personally explored the caves a lot since I mostly just played the campaign in the original game, but you can also get gems pretty easily down in caves, and it would also add a renewable source of rocks and flint, something the current game lacks (meteors are unpredictable and nowhere near often enough to provide enough rocks/flint). Caves would provide a lot of the good players an additional challenge and I would certainly look forward to it since the game currently is too easy, and the only thing that offers a challenge to me currently is fighting giants, and even that is starting to get easy. Long story short, add caves. I want the challenge as well as a telelocator staff and a snow chester.
brummbar7
Tell me if I got the idea of caves wrong, or if it's really worth discovering. Lanterns are indeed pretty nice, and bunny men are really good for spider farming. And if you run out of tentacle drops or stone it's a good place to get more. In the end, the main reason I go down there is Shelmets. They're really, really great.
