Question about Spriter and scale of images

Was working on a project and was wondering about the object properties bar

I know i cant really resize anything in spriter for the project. However is there a way to tell what scale I want to use when I open a project in GIMP. 

For instance my head-0 is to large, But I can easily see what size I want it to be (Smaller)  through Spriter,  Do the object properties on the bottom left reflect the size of the image? or just the size in Spriter? 

Can I use that info to resize the image?

The scale values on the bottom left reflect the scale of an object.  It's a multiplier, so a value of 1 means that instance of the sprite(the object) that is selected is the same size as its image file.
 
A value of 2 would be twice the size of its image file.
 
Similarly, a value of 0.5 would be half the size of its image file.

 

You can use this to work out how much you need to scale your images.  Start off by scaling the objects to the size desired inside spriter.  Write down the x-scale and y-scale values for every sprite that you resized.  Close the Spriter project WITHOUT SAVING IT.

 

Now is a good time to make a backup of your project ;)

 

Repeat this process for each image you want to resize:

 

1. Open it up in GIMP.

2. Navigate to Image -> Scale Image...

3. Click on "px" and change the units to "percent"

4. For Width, multiply the x-scale value you wrote down for that image by 100.  For example, if your x-scale is 0.913, the width will be 91.3

5. Repeat this for Height, using the y-scale value instead.

6. Click Scale.

7. Save the scaled version of the image.  This version will be the same size as what you had in Spriter prior to closing it.

 

Once you have scaled all the images you need to, re-open the Spriter project.  If anything has become unaligned, you will need to adjust its pivot point.
