Low framerate on linux

I've been having really bad framerate problems on my linux installlation of this game.

I'm struggling to hold 60 fps and as soon as I hit werebeaver mode it sits on 30 fps (occasionally hitting 31 and 32 :/). Frame rate problems happen with and without mods, it also happens in don't starve together, but it's a beta and everyones getting that problem atm. Any help I could get would be greatly appreciate. If you need any more info, just ask.
