Small idea, i was playing DST and someone told me that rain does not affect crock pot meals. For sure i thought they would turn to rot or wet goop in the rain but nothing happened.

I think after a certain amount of time (while raining) or a certain amount of wetness (of the food) the meal perched on the crock pot should turn to wet goop. This would make the game more difficult and more sensitive since players will be forced to put food in the ice box/inventory which will make the food start to rot. This makes the game more interesting and difficult due to the environment especially whilst raining, hence the name; Reign of Giants.

Not sure if anyone else has made a thread/post about this however, if they did, i apologize for not finding it.

I apologize for my poor communication skills but if you do not understand please comment below :\

The crock pot has a lid and it gets removed "magically" when the food is done to signify that the food has been finished. So you're essentially trying to add realism to something that just isn't real to begin with. In that case, I don't agree with this suggestion.

Wait what about when you have food in your inventory or bag and you or your bag gets completely soaked and all items inside at all wet as well. I think the food should start to rot faster (twice as fast?) because it is wet. Also i think it should not be possible to dry the food unless you put it on a drying rack. Since it is rare to be fully soaks, i think the wetness of food items should make them rot a lot faster and they cannot be dried (other than meats).
