Together changes to regular game?

Recommended Posts

Excuse me Klei, I know you are pretty busy adding more stuff and fixing together but I saw some things that are better now, somethings just visuals like the angle of the farms, but another things like performance and some mechanics like meteor shower or items like balloons will never reach in the single player version? I know some things are designed for multiplayer, like ewecus and the new dragonfly what I mean is the regular don't starve will still receive updates? or maybe a DLC? Don't starve will be consumed by together?

I don't mean that I want more updates and DLC for single player (well... maybe yes, but not rigth now), I only want to know if the first game eventually will die by together

DST's new content is exclusive to DST only. I think the developers even said that at one point.

It may be possible that singleplayer will be updated at some point to receive some hotfixes.

well I hear something like this too, but maybe more content to regular don't starve would be irrelevant, after all, the single player and the multiplayer are sold together, anyway I only want to know if the developers would like or just have in mind more content exclusive for single player in a distant future

Yea, bugfixing is the only thing I see as even being remotely worth their time with singleplayer.

I'd rather keep DTS and DT separate on all accounts besides mods and bugfixes....

But yes, I am concerned that the singleplayer game will not be updated anymore, which saddens me since as fun as the can be right now, it could do so much more... Both of the games could do so much more.

We just got a small round of bugfixes in single-player Don't Starve, and some minor updates to coding affecting mods.

I know Together is probably the main focus since it has the potential to be super succesful, but I think that the best thing that Together does is bring players to the Single-Player game. For many people the massive learning curve of Don't Starve is pretty intimidating. Jumping into DS can be not fun if you don't know what you are doing.  But, jumping into a game with friends and exploring together and helping each other out or learning from each other is a much less intimidating way to get into the world.  Once you learn a few basic strategies for not dying those early days, you have the confidence to move toward the regular single-player game.

At least, that's how I see it. I enjoy the Together experience, but it is just too hard to find consistent time to play with friends, whereas finding a few spare moments to load up the single player game is perfectly normal.

I really hope the single-player game remains as the main Don't Starve product. I absolutely love it.  Honestly, though, I've definitely gotten my money's worth.

I agree, Its better be a newbie with friends but if you don't have friends in together you should to get ones, its a bit difficult find players in together because the trolling and the locked servers, anyway DST could give a pretty similar experience to the regular game, if you want to play alone just select play offline, I know that play DST alone could be like playing L4D without other players or cpus, more hard, but it still possible for dedicated gamers. When the caves arrives the single player will be obsolete, only adventure mode could be exclusive
