TheTraditionalGentleman
While I don't use him that much, Webber is definitely one of the most interesting characters (in my opinion), just because of how different the game is when using him. What do you think would be the best base for him, and what would be some good "spidery" goals? Obviously I'd build a massive spider colony all around my camp, but what else would be a good idea? TheTraditionalGentleman
Additionally, why wasn't he included as one of the blind box figures? Is it because he's ROG? I would have LOVED a Webber figure

They would have had to put the figures on a few month delay for their to be a Webber or Wigfrid figure.

Thanks. Maybe if they add more characters to the game later, they'll make figures of the new characters and Webber and Wigfrid? That would be pretty nice
Michi01
You shouldn't plant the spider eggs directly at your camp. After like day 100 everything is full of them and it's extremely anoying. Trust me.

mellojoe
I played a bit as Webber. I honestly thought the spider dens would be protection from hound waves. They are NOT. I thought my spider pals would help me when I was being attacked. They don't. Not really. If the hounds randomly decide to attack a spider, then the rest of the spiders will help out their spider mate, but they largely ignore anything that happens to Webber. Also, even as Webber, attacking one spider (for the monster meat, which you can eat with no penalty) means all the other spiders will still attack you. Just because the spiders tolerate you initially, does not mean they will tolerate you farming them.

Just because the spiders tolerate you initially, does not mean they will tolerate you farming them. You don't farm them by hitting them, though. You use the spider meat you have to gather a bunch of spiders to your side, then tell those spiders to attack the other spiders. If you do it right, there will be a giant brawl w/ 0 spiders aggroed onto you. You just run around picking up the spider meats before they can be eaten and profit. As for the hounds, you're pretty much right, you have to run around for a while to get the hounds to aggro onto the random spiders (which is really very easy since the reset aggro every time they stop to bark) and then the spiders will overwhelm and murder the dogs. But you have to do this for every single dog and it's usually easier to just kill the hounds outright if you have are geared (which you should be). I didn't know you could befriend spiders. I'll have to try that next time. I only played until like day 50 or something before I quit Webber and switched to another character. I'll have to try getting spider friends.

Oh man, Webber's spider friends is literally his greatest strength! I recommend giving him another shot if you feel inclined to play a new game some time. To make them attack the other spiders, you have to initiate an attack against the enemies and then CANCEL IT before you actually hit them. As long as the animation starts to play before you cancel the attack, then your spider friends should take the cue and attack your target. Takes a little getting used to, but it's easy enough to get the hang of. Get a few spider warriors in your merry band of friends and you can really start to wreck a lot of threats. : )
Odal
I'm not sure if it's the same with controllers, but on pc you can command your allies with relative ease and safety by holding down ctrl and clicking the target as if attacking them. You don't even need to get close or swing your weapon. This is how i make sure to kill glommer if i don't want to deal with krampus. I've even had to use spiders via the spider hat once because i killed my pigs off just before the full moon.
