New character: the chef

How about a character called the chef where he gets normal stats like a average character. His special would be he gets more from food and cooks faster in a crock pot but his disadvantage would be that he will only eat an item if it has been cooked.

"Clear your plate!"

*250 Hunger

*150 Health

*150 Sanity

 

*Expert cook

-Has a unique crafting menu, allowing her to prepare many Crockpot meals (and some unique meals) from common items in the field, though usually somewhat less efficiently than at an actual crockpot. (Eg: Meatballs from 3x Monster Meat, Berry Smoothie from 6x berries 2x Ice)

-All food cooked or made in a Crockpot returns to full freshness.

-Starts with a Cleaver, a weapon with the same stats as a spear. Can craft one using 4 sticks and 4 Flint.

*Gourmet

-Won't eat uncooked food, including Mushrooms, Ice, Deerclops Eyeballs, etc.

-Refuses to eat anything stale or spoiled.

-No sanity or health loss from Monster Food.

*Arachnophobic

-Loses more sanity from the presence of Spiders.

-Loses sanity while slowed by webs.

 

Appearance/Character notes

-Middle aged, fat, strong arms and legs.

-Default outfit includes an apron and a triangular chef's headscarf with a white flower motif.

-Dutch accent.

-Actual name is Sanne.

-Owned a restaurant prior to coming to the Don't Starve world.

-Has something good to say about every food item, loves Durian.

-Scared of spiders, description lines range from stammers to incomprehensible gibbering in the presence of the Spider Queen.

-Talks about how cute animals are and how nice they're going to taste in the same breath.

Uhh, slight bump, so I was wondering if I had permission to attempt to create this in my complete food overhaul mod, it adds a ton more foods, crockpot dishes and whatnot and I believe he would fit right in.

What would be the point if the spear does as much damage and costs less? Maybe animals killed with the Cleaver would drop more meat?

His disadvantage would be that he will only eat an item if it has been cooked.

There is already a modded character with that feature, I believe she's called Wicked.

 

EDIT: Looked it up and she can only eat crockpotted food, which is still similar to your idea.

Mainly it acts as an early-game boost, since you normally need to either find some gold to prototype rope and then a spear. (Also you start with one so you can get your fight on right away.)

 

It's a very minor advantage, unless you, say, find yourself resurrected with a pack of hounds on the way and need to whip up some self-defence.

 

I do like the idea of enemies dropping more meat though. Perhaps +1 of each type if it'd normally drop 2 or more.
