127906 - 2/23/2015

 

Changes

  • Sleep-inducing items now make players groggy before they get knocked out (and stay groggy for a bit after they wake up).

  • Added experimental alternate garbage collector to prevent running out of memory during worldgen. Disabled by default; and enabled with command line option ‘-alternate_gc’.

  • Added experimental threaded physics. Disabled by default; and enabled with command line option ‘-threaded_physics”.

  • Added multithreaded renderer. Disabled by default; and enabled with command line option ‘-threaded_render’.

  • Mods can now use AddModRPCHandler and SendModRPCToServer for client-to-server communication.

  • Mods can now use their own replicable components with AddReplicableComponent

  • Added support for Steam Controllers

  • Willow changes:
    • Willow’s fire damage reduction is now 50% (down from 100%)

    • Willow’s lighter now lasts for 20 clock segments (down from forever)

    • Willow’s lighter can now be crafted

    • Willow no longer lights fires when her sanity is low

    • Willow now takes 10% increased effects from sanity auras


  • Added “Account Info” page, which allows you to easily see your KU and generate server tokens.  Found under, Play, Host Game / Account Info.

  • Characters can now be hidden from the player indicator by adding the tag "noplayerindicator".

 

Bug Fixes

  • Beefalo herds should manage their size better and no longer take over servers.

  • Fixed a bug where controllers could not use items in their inventory to repair or refuel

  • Fixed a bug where client ghosts disappear when force inspecting during movement

  • Fixed a bug where insane players were not able to attack shadow creatures

  • Fixed a bug where mouseover text sometimes becomes offset below the cursor

  • Fixed Lua assert when a treasure chest was placed in the world without any other chests present.

well on my server lightning and fire hounds burn down every forest.

Multithreaded is for intel?

 

I don't understand what you are talking about with the mods things. I am not a modder just trying to get my dedicated server working good.

 

Would this solver having to upload all the mods that I modify just for balance on my server?

@JadeKnightblazer, A lot... There were around 600 separate code revisions submitted between this patch and last, by the revision number. Which mods are breaking?

 

Mostly I just saw things that will reduce the need to hack a lot of stuff in mods (container widgets, character-specific recipes, custom RPCs and replicable components)... I'll have to revamp my guide quite a bit.

I'm waiting for them to add gears in safe locked chests.  with ghost features.

 

 

about an hour ago this updatehappened around the tiem I died.

 

 

I was getting killed by horror.  about 20 seconds later the game disconnected for this update.  I log back on my friend still has all his stuff but my stuff disappeared.

 

I couldn't find any of it.  I was even carrying chesters bone and that disappeared.  chester was running around lost with no place to go.   he'd hop in strange area's and just stand there hop someplae else and then.

 

I figured the state got saved and somehow it saved me dyingbut not my stuff dropping.

Im sorry you'll have to forgive me on trying to understand the good that came from Willow being damaged by fire? Is there a reason that it is now 50%? 

I am totally ok with the changes to the lighter as I see the damage it can cause on servers but the whole damage to fire to me is excessive.

 

Can someone then explain to me why this is?

Namely My Shovel Knight Mod and Drok caveman mod.

 

 

The error I get is...  Attempt to index field "WINSTON" (a nil value)  --The name of the custom character.

 

 

in function 'RegisterPrefabs'

 

 

Basiclly all my STRINGS.CHARACTERS.WINSTON.DESCRIBE.  don't work now in my items...

Seriously, it would be that hard to make a torch for griefing needs. You killed willow, there's now basically no reason to play as her, because fire does a lot of damage and anything different from 100% fireproof will quickly kill the player. Was it that hard to add a console command to prevent new player (less than X days of playtime) from igniting, regardless of their character or their fire tool (torch/lighter). You went wrong way (once more).

I assume it's so that she can't just burn down entire areas and stand safely in the fire while everyone else takes damage.
