Hello everyone !!

 

My name is Lampofulmine !

 

As some of you might know, me and some friends are in the process of creating an Underwater mod called as the title says "Creeps in the Deeps". With this mod we won't simply add an Underwater world to the current Don't Starve game, but we will also implement the entity of water with its related structures/craftables, thirst stat, etc... A new World mean new mobs (jellyfish, squids, crabs...), new craftables, new mechanics and obviously new Bosses. 

 

Here you can find the current progress of the mod with most of the ideas we are going to implement in the game ! Be aware of the spoiler though !! You can also fine the name of the members that are working on it now.

 

 

Our team is working very well now, we have some programmers, some artists and some animators and for now i would say the mod completion is getting near the 30%. Obviously, as we develop new ideas things pile up quickly and therefore now we are in the need of a help.

 

Artists, animators and programmers which feels they might give us a hand in completing this project, are warmly welcome ! Although, we might ask you for some examples of your work, if you're confident of yourself you shouldn't be worried too much and you'll be quickly joining the team !

 

Testers are also welcome, but unfortunately now we wouldn't be able to give you anything to test our mod since we feel is not ready yet !

 

If you feel like you might have a good idea for this mod, please feel free to post something here or send me a personal PM and i'll answer back ASAP.

, we would like to keep the mod textures, animations and so on, as secret as possible and therefore we won't be giving spoilers if not to people helping us. Im sorry, but the link at the to-do list is the max i can do ;)

This sounds fairly well thought through and like a ton of fun. I'd actually be very interested in joining in the bugtesting/coding aspect. I've actually recently gotten into DST modding, (yes, jumping into the multiplayer one. I've been wanting to do it before that was even a thing but I was busy with other projects until recently) and would love the chance to help out and figure out new things to do with the code.

 

Unfortunately, due to just recently having gotten into Don't Starve specifically I don't have very much to show off as far as work on this game goes, as I only have one that I've uploaded to the Steam Workshop at the moment. (And it doesn't have art assets yet since I haven't gotten around to it/aren't a great artist) That said, I've been working on a few different mods for the game to get a feel for it and test the limits of the game to see what works/doesn't and to learn how far I can get with the engine. Which, so far it's been fair going with the exception that I'm having some difficulty getting the animation pipeline to work reliably. Anyways done rambling, I'm going to copy/paste the link to the one community available mod I made for DST along with some non-DST stuff I've done so that I don't look like as much of an inexperienced little derp. (spoiler: I'm a somewhat experienced big derp)

I haven't gotten around to uploadingany images/video of me playing yet since I haven't done the art assets. The only thing in the descriptionthat doesn't currently work is the pet hound doesn't generate on character creation, and it may or maynot crash non-host clients. And I think I said both of those were broken in the desc. anyways, and Ithink I fixed the crash I just haven't gotten around to actually test it yet.)

@polygone, hey there ! Good to hear there's someone out there willing to help ! XD So, I've looked at the mod you've created but as you might have read I'm not the coder but one of the artists of the game and therefore i know very little about coding ! Though, I've forwarded the link to our programmers telling them to give me an opinion ! As soon as they answer back to be, i'll update you straight away :D

Will there be a character to go with this mod? Like in Up and Away's Winnie? (I believe Winnie was added from the beta to the mod)

@justjasper, yes, we are planning to add civilised merms (and villages) which might be allied under certain circumstances ! 

 

Could there be a Queen Merm to go with the Pig King? 

 

Alien/Fishy type of creatures tend to have a queen monarch. I'm not sure what she can give.

 

And also you can change the colour of the merms, or at least the tone, so you can tell they are different from the World's Merms.

I don't know how much I can do, as I've never attempted to work on a mod before, but I have practiced the Don't Starve artstyle a bit and I would really like to try and help out with this if I can. If only to try and convince you to make the underwater entrance be a bathysphere.

@Pyromailmann, well if you wanna help feel free to post some feedback and suggestions ! It might come in handy !

 

I'm definaatly wanting to pitch in, as soon as I get up to speed, I've already done alot of research into the art style of the early 1900's style that don't starve is loosely created in. and have started to create folders for workflow.
