notquitethatguy
Dell Conagher, The Engineer from TF2, has stumbled into the world of Don't Starve! Get the mod at: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=385214831 Traits:*Spawns with a wrench (This is a weapon that deals identical damage to a tentacle spike, has no durability)*Spawns with four gears, because he's an engineer.*Lower health and hunger, for balance. I plan to add a a lot more to this! Please message me ideas you want to see or anything like that. Current ideas:*Engineer hard hat - Works like a football helmet *Sentry - Deals damage to enemy threats. Things that still need to be done:*Some tweaks to the art files*Pretty much all of the voice lines.*New things! Thanks for checking out this mod. Tell me any bugs you may encounter, and I will get around to fixing them. Images:
goldfish911
I can give you some tips AND ideas!1. Sentries use gears, and have no natural health regen. Health is regenerated by attacking them with a wrench(wrench could check if object being attacked has the tag "building" and will heal instead of damage. Keep in mind though, as DS is a bit wonky, the sentry will only be able to face in a set number of directions (I think the four cardinal directions is the limit, but there's farms which have a few more orientations). Study the code for the Houndius Shootius in-game as it is the closest thing to a sentry the game has. The sentry could also be upgraded, increasing attack speed/ using alternate projectiles for the rockets that deal more damage2.Voice can be a guitar3. Can build teleporters (study mods like the trapdoors mod for reference). The default animation may be a bit weird(character jumping into a teleporter and vanishing into the ground), but that can be customized(with lots of patience)
notquitethatguy
I'll try my best, I want to see that happen just as much as anyone else. I'm new to all this coding but I feel that I'm starting to get a grip.
erdmanski1341
As an engineer, it would be fitting if he could build things more efficiently. Maybe mod him so everything he make costs half the resources? I'd imagine you could reference the construction amulet code for how to do it. There are a few options to do it: -Apply it to the character file-Apply it to the wrench, so the wrench would need to be equipped for it to work-Create a new item like a took kit that would lose durability on use like the construction amulet
