TheFriday
Hello, I'm Friday. I'm new to this community. I really enjoy Don't Starve and DST! I've been trying to make custom content with very minimal success. I made this thread in hopes someone could help me. I have a very limited experience with coding/scripting. I can read something and have a general idea of what it does, but I cannot write it. I've been trying to the best of my ability to learn and understand all the things that go into creating a custom character in Don't Starve, and I just cannot get the hang of it. I always run into something that makes the character unusable. I've used several tutorials from this site. Including TheDanaAddams' guide here;http://tinyurl.com/ngxnwxc And tried to the best of my ability to use Dleowolf's Extended Sample Character Template here;http://tinyurl.com/kaadsz3 Although different, they are both super useful! But I am still unable to create a working character. Right now the issue I have is that when I launch Don't Starve and start a world with my character (after successfully enabling it), once it loads and should start the game it instead closes. Presuming this is a crash, I have no idea what is triggering or causing it. I have Don't Starve Mod Tools installed and enabled on my Steam account, so every time I launch the game it does it's thing. I utterly have no idea what it really does or what I can do with it.(Other than it compiling some files automatically which is super useful) I apologize that I'm inexperienced, and I am really open to any help that I can receive. Thank you so much!
