(Why?...im sorta new)

While it did not help that Two Worlds was tricky to predict coming and had Perma summer, taking a ice hat and resources with you into level 3 was always a safe bet. Even if you did not get it that time, you weren't in a doomed position. Just take the ice hat and resources with you into level 4 and then you have about 6 days to find the tele parts, but it is normal to beat that level in two to three days. Just got to race for the easy to find parts. The reason you bring your own resources, is because almost everything is withered. I thought it was fun to finally speed through a world though.

Then the final level was perma summer too, though I beat it with Wilson with no Ice Hat. Perma Summer and Perma night work against each other, creating a harder but more thought provoking experience. You have to pull out every trick in the book, even to the point of smashing pig houses to just fight them for food. Though, the summer heat is not as bad during night, so Ice Hat is actually not worth it. I think I brought moggles, sewing kit, summer vest, and grass. You had to make endo fires, so you needed to mine the boulders. This meant you ACTUALLY HAD TO USE the thorns that never wither, so you can have twigs. It really really really felt like the final game of chess with Maxwell. Also, mole goggles rocked that level!

But, people didn't like the increased difficulty. No one wanted to relocate a maxwell door in vanilla to unlock the characters. So with numerous complaints of increased difficulty for a adventure mode they didn't even want to do, it was decided to remove every aspect of ROG from adventure mode.

A small percentage of the player base cares about adventure mode, and a smaller percentage base cares about ruins. Though caves never really caught on because they were time consuming and never essential, adventure was closer to despised for being the only way to unlock a few characters. Add in the infamous bug where Wes would not spawn on the right world, and people were rarely ever happy.

@Ridley, I mean, I was in the camp where I though the weirdly-RoG adventure mode was too hard (the real problem was that it was unintentionally that hard; Darkness was supposed to be an easy season, not actually RoG Summer), I still liked adventure mode. I've never seen any evidence of people "despising it" for being the only way to unlock Maxwell and Wes.

But people always complain when things change. That doesn't mean they didn't like the original thing-- in fact it suggests they liked the original thing so much that it's frustrating to them that it was changed.

Why should Darkness be a easy season every time? Summer was not in full force thanks to the night, so it is not like we are talking about Spring Darkness or Winter Darkness.

You may not have seen people despising it for being the only way to unlock them, but I have. I don't really know how to add to this, but the mentality sure exists.

Not exactly. You used to not be able play as Webber and Wigfrid in vanilla adventure mode. Wigfrid is very good at running through adventure mode, as she was who I tested to see if I could beat ROG adventure with (Wilson was second to beat it). People playing as the new characters wanted to do the adventure mode with these new characters because they either thought they had a better shot or didn't to make a vanilla file just for adventure mode.

They preferred the original as a means of getting Max and Wes, but they'd rather break their records for days survived then spend 4 hours attempting adventure mode.

I surprised to see so many people shocked to hear me say, "most people don't like adventure mode". Can we agree that most people don't like summer due to flash fires?

wait what? summer heat during night? that's insane and and and.... insane and not fun and you must have ice hat

You know that the summer heat is much cooler during the night than during the day, right? You can practically get by with a straw hat and endo fires.
