Regarding the Map

I have found that the map feature in Don't Starve, while effective, could be better.

I have two ideas that I believe are worth implementing:

1. Have the "Show Map" icon be replaced by a small area of the map around you

Or

2. Have the way that the map is filled in be rectangle-based and not circle-based.

There's a mod that change the " show map " button by a small piece of the minimap. pretty usefull :3
About the map,  I think in DST you should see the explored area from other players or smth like when you press tab, you can ask him if you can see where he is and what he explored in the map and he would have to accept or not. That would be cool for big servers
