tdhh
Hi Everyone, sorry for the dumb title at first. I'm from Asia and have played DS for a long time (since THE END OF BEGINNING). Since I'm not from an English Country, please try to stay with my poor English, thanks . There are certain questions, the answers to which cannot be united in the DS-BBS in my country.. So I've come here and hope some really skilled players can help me out with those questions. All the questions should be considered with the condition in the latest DLC version. HERE are they: 1.Tentacle. -After you kill ALL the Tentacle on the map, will they be reborn at the swamp after some time according to the game mechanism ? -If you let 2 or more Tentacle to live, will they MULTIPLY on their own? 2.Hound Mound. -Will it spawn Blue or Red Hound ? 3.Rabbit Hole. -Will it spawn randomly on its own(Will new Rabbit Hole spawn on the map automatically) ? There is maybe more but I've got these 3 in mind right now. And please answer with persuasive reasons, thanks again. LCBX
Midnight Tea
Hello! It's good to see you! I love sharing games overseas! I like many Asian games too. 1. Tentacles are limited on the overworld. A book Wickerbottom creates can spawn more. However, the big tentacles underground do come back after a while. 2. Hound Mounds should spawn red or blue hounds according to the wiki. I'm not sure of the rate. 3. If you destroy a rabbit hole with a shovel, it won't come back. Be careful!

Let me repeat your answer in my language to make sure that I understand you correctly: 1.Tentacles (on the swamp) won't grow back after being killed, nor will they multiply on their own under any circumstances. 3.A rabbit hole won't grow back after being destroyed, nor will new hole appear on the map automatically. Thank you again for your kindness.
Midnight Tea
1. Swamp tentacles are limited and don't increase on their own. 3. If you destroy a rabbit hole with a shovel, there won't ever be a new one. However don't panic if rabbit holes collapse on their own during the spring season, they'll reopen later. I'm very happy to help however I can! Sorry if I'm confusing. I wish I could respond in your language!

Xija
Are you sure Tentacles doesn't respawn? I have a swamp near my base and I always go there to get some loots from merms and tentacles that fought for centuries. They haven't lowered their number since 113 days of my life. Midnight Tea
Well there ARE a lot of tentacles typically, but it wouldn't have surprised me if they did change that at some point. The big tentacles underground respawn, after all. But as far as I know they don't come back on their own without Wickerbottom.

This is what I’m talking about. Many think they can respawn and others don't... And everyone has his own experience to support them. Like me, I've killed all the Tentacles in a certain area and never saw a Tentacle ever since (There are other Tentacles on the map).
Xija
Now I want to hear an admin's answer to this, I feel like not going there anymore for them not to go extinct.
Midnight Tea
I think the best way to test tentacle presence to dress our characters like they're in an R-18 manga. Them we send them into the marsh! Wolfgang: "Why is skirt so short?"

Ehmm that's what I hope, too. I would be grateful if you have a way to contract him/her.
Midnight Tea
I found a log of someone who had a marsh base. Their guide pretty much swears that tentacles are an abundant but limited resource if you're not Wickerbottom. I believe them because setting up your base in a marsh requires knowing where the tentacles are at all times.
blaaaat
That would also be my experience. First times I went through the swamp, there was loot everywhere. Nowadays, nothing. Same with one underground swamp I regularly pass through. They don't respawn.
Midnight Tea
Though again, the big ones underground do come back. If you can kill one not only do they drop great loot in addition to the usual tentacle loot, but they also trigger an earthquake.

Well guess I have to make pig houses beside merm's house in case the tentacles go extinct.
Midnight Tea
Well, if you don't want merms you can always break their houses with a hammer. They make a good emergency food source in winter though.
