Majicpanda
Hey guys, just wanted to first say really amazing game you guys put together and continue to build upon. We are suffering the low indie budget woes which means we cannot go 3D and are really curious how you got your tiles generated in game. Did you write a custom generator within unity itself to just display a bunch of 64x64 squares (orthogonal, diamond?) that just pick prefabs and place them all together with the 2d tools and sorting layers for the ground and then go back in over the map and randomly spawn in a bunch more prefabs for the trees and other interactables? Hitting a huge road block with this initial phase in our development and I saw a response on stack overflow or somewhere else about billboarding the sprites which makes sense, but the world generation is just blowing my mind right now. Silentdarkness1
This belongs in off topic, honestly, because it's not about Don't Starve.
Rosten
If anything, it belongs in the mods subforum.
Flopjack
Did they use Unity for Don't Starve?
