JoeW
Hey Everybody, We made some adjustments to the amount of keys we are giving out again today and I wanted to let you all know. We are going back to 2 keys per invite, and we will begin sending out 300 invites per day starting tomorrow. Tonight, we will send everybody who only received only 1 key a new key to share with their friends. Once we stabilize and feel comfortable with these numbers, we will likely be increasing this number quite a bit in the coming weeks. It's possible that we could decrease, but that's not likely. In the future, I will update this post as we adjust these numbers. UPDATE -- We are increasing distribution of keys substantially. RalphKastro
don't know how I feel about this.3 hundred keys a day might mean more time for my luck to catch up, but on the other hand, when my luck finally stops being mad at me, I'll be able to play with friends(apparently, other people don't like me setting them on fire... at least not in games.... gotta try in real life...) Pyromailmann
Since Already got a key from one of the early people who got a key and I signed up for the registration, I don't mind if I get an extra key or not.

RalphKastro
I think this should be reposted/pinned/moved/whatever in the Key Depot part of the forums, since this part is mostly accessed by people with keys, and most of the people without keys go there. kenryuz
So i assume you can't get one if you didn't apply to beta when it was open?
imsomony
So i assume you can't get one if you didn't apply to beta when it was open? Right. There was a signup process that lasted 2 days, if I remember right, and that was the "application" time. Multiple keys were handed out initially for a short period to get things going, and after that, the "closed beta" began. Closed beta consists of folks who signed up during the application time and/or those who are given keys by recipients of the signup. There will be an open beta after that, the details of which have yet to be fully determined since we're not anywhere near there yet. There were 80K closed beta signups. But don't worry, there were 2 MILLION keys created by Klei for open/closed beta. So there is always a chance, and be sure to check the Key Depot for giveaways and contests. I don't think it would matter considering they flood every forum looking for keys anyway. They don't read.
RalphKastro
I don't think it would matter considering they flood every forum looking for keys anyway. They don't read.well, yeah, but since they're (mostly) contained there for the sake of everyone else's sanity, and that some of them are simply people looking for free giveaways and stuff(like I was once, before losing hope), and since this post is mainly for them, I think they should at least get to see it. Hellkitty
I've heard there were keys during the streams? Is that still true? I think they do it more as a random gift type thing, as in there is no real guarantee that they will. And they don't say they always will. But! If you stop by you just might get lucky with a giveaway. In other words, if they don't I hope people don't complain about it. lol But I kinda suspect they might still, at least occasionally The streams I saw they did. Just how I see it at least. ^^ (I just heard of the giveaways from the stream by someone that won keys there, and he made it clear it was random.) rarkorn
How can I tell if I actually signed up in time? I remember seeing the sign up page, but I don't remember if I actually filled it out or not. I'd rather not just sit here wondering forever if it turns out I was an idiot and didn't take action when I should have.

Hellkitty
At this point I don't even remember if I applied for the beta. i am not sure either, infact i remember that my friend bought the game for me and then sent me the key for steam, so how can i even tell? I thought when you activate a key it lets you know what you're activating (either during or afterwards.) Don't Starve game would be listed as "Don't Starve" and the DST will be listed as "Don't Starve Together Beta" in the steam library. If that helps you with anything. I don't know o.o (I may be misunderstanding) How can I tell if I actually signed up in time? I remember seeing the sign up page, but I don't remember if I actually filled it out or not. I'd rather not just sit here wondering forever if it turns out I was an idiot and didn't take action when I should have. I suppose you could contact Klei and ask, perhaps with the email you would have likely used ( Telling them what email I mean, otherwise they wouldn't know either ^^.) There's really no way of knowing for sure(to my knowledge). I'm not sure if people were supposed to receive confirmation. I know when I did apply, I did not, but I didn't think anything of that at the time. (My friend didn't either). If anyone else knows if there was confirmation, because I am not certain?(If you choose to contact Klei it may or may not take a little while for a response. *shrug*.) Also, I suppose there is always the fool proof method of waiting for when they update everyone, to say that all who applied received their keys and you did not receive your key by that time.... Then I guess you didn't apply for the beta. hehe ^^
