Beltain
Hello guys,This is my very first post to these forums and I just wanted to say,I love this game, however I feel as if it is missing something really important. It is a great survival game, but every biome feels a bit dry, and incomplete. This is why I would like to suggest maybe adding bigger uses of water in the game.Let's be honest, Don't Starve is brilliant but not including a way of drinking and storing water in a survival game just doesn't feel right. I would love to see way of harvesting the water and possibly making ways of crossing the oceans in this game, it could also make for a whole new and exciting update to the game once Together comes out
Direkappa
How does a swamp feel dry?
serpent
In reality you can live withoud food for weeks if you have enough reserves a lack of water on the other hand will kill you in mere days. If you would add water in game, you'd die in seconds compared to the 12 minutes it takes you to get your hunger down to 0, at which your health deplenish rather fast I do agree with you, water in game would be awesome, but mechanic-wise i can not think of a way it would fit in... Hellkitty
Guess the game would have been called, "Don't Thirst!"
TwoStarve
Not advocating for them, but, if you have the Steam version, (Vs standalone) I think there is a thirst mod.
J20hawkz
If water was drinkable and was something we needed to keep full to survive, it should be implemented as one with the hunger meter. So either eating or drinking will fill up one meter. Then other things fan come into play such as not eating for a certain period of time will cause the meter to drain faster or have negative implications on sanity and not drinking for lengths at a time could cause our health to fall. All in all it's a bit more interesting but a lot more complicated.
seronis
Could have the color of the stomach badge shift towards red as you eat food and shift towards blue as you drink liquids. A well balanced (purple?) badge would deteriorate slower than an unbalanced one.
J192
I think 'drinks' would be kinda neat as long as there wouldn't be a "thirst meter". e.g. drinking plain water replenishes some hunger, drinking a strange green liquid you made with alchemy replenishes health, drinking a cup of hot coffee will replenish some sanity and raises your temperature, etc. Thirst in this game would be very hard and tricky to implement due to how the game is currently. Devs must make sure that it wouldn't be something that just becomes annoying as hell to manage (*cough* placing back small traps *cough*) or something that's just ignore most of the time. Tamazacat
Ehh... Not huge fan, I'm afraid.Instead of a thirst meter, we should get a bonus for drinking, e.g. 15% faster running speed? So rather than it becoming a necessity, it would become a quirk.Even then, I'm still just not feeling it, sorry. Rosten
Klei has said no. This won't happen. It's too micromanagey. And would add nothing to the game but another hunger bar. I'm not even reading the rest of the posts because they don't matter. It won't happen.
TheMaskedMan
Could drinking things work like potions, as in give you buffs in stuff?
Rosten
Could drinking things work like potions, as in give you buffs in stuff? Then all it does is make the game easier. Game design isn't about adding things just because, there needs to be a good reason to have them in the game.
