XirmiX
^the title says it all. Remember I'm talking about single player DS, not multiplayer, as DST doesn't have caves and ruins yet. So, any solutions on how to deal with this?
J192
How do you experience lag in a single-player game? I am confused.

I have a good graphics card, 3GB RAM (I know my ram isn't the best, but hei, I can't do anything about that) and I have 297 GB hard disk space. I have a good graphics card, 3GB RAM (I know my ram isn't the best, but hei, I can't do anything about that) and I have 297 GB hard disk space. What is a "good" graphics card? You can compare your system to the minimum system specs here: MINIMUM: OS:Windows XP/Vista/Windows 7/Windows 8 Processor:1.7+ GHz or better Memory:1+ gigs of RAM GB RAM Graphics:Radeon HD5450 or better; 256 MB or higher DirectX®:9.0c Hard Drive:500 MB HD space Sound:100% DirectX9.0c compatible sound card and drivers If your system is definitely better than that above: Are you using mods? When exactly does the issue happen? Is some application running in the background while you are playing? spencer320
If your using minimap mod, that might be part of the problem. When I used it (mod) it gave me problems everywhere in the game. On the surface, it made my day last 20 minutes after day 30 or so. Caves and ruins were fine until I had explored the entire cave or ruin and had an earthquake, nightmare cycle or cave worm attack. Since I disabled it, days are back to normal, caves and ruins are fine, minimum lag around my base. Now, let's talk RockLobsters... If you bring them down to the ruins, once they get out of hand, you'll probably experience some lag. Other than that, I don't know.

Rock lobsters get out of hand there? To me, the sheer supremacy of worms (and occasionally some slurpers) simply smother the lobsters. (of course some more or less survive under their shell, but still) I can't report significant lag in ruins either, only when the nightmare cycle changes there is some stutter.
