So...Are we done with singleplayer updates?

Recommended Posts

If you mean large content updates, yes. Klei stopped updating Singleplayer Don't Starve I think last year..? Probably a bit earlier though.

Although, Klei making more DLC (That all of us would happily buy up) is a possibility still.

But what about unimplemented characters? Is this really the final version?

The unimplemented characters were never promised. It's highly likely that none of those characters will ever be implemented, just like a lot of the unused assets in the game files.

They made it clear last year All Well's That Maxwell was the last major content update. We may get smaller things like the rewards from the Chester kickstarter, small tuning, and bug fixes of course, but the main singleplayer game is pretty much done.

Wow, I wasn´t aware of that. I thought they still had plans, damn.

Oh and what about Wortox! He´s silhouetted in the game! I´m sorry, Don´t Starve is in no way finished.

Wortox has always been the silhouette for max level in the game (as far as I can remember, at least). Doesn't mean they have plans to implement them. All the unimplemented characters are just that, unimplemented. They will most likely never see the light of beefalos

Don't Starve is 100% finished. Klei made it clear that Alls Well That's Maxwell was going to be the last FREE update to the Single-Player. It's pretty generous of them already, a whole year of free updates to the game is more than most companies give in their entire lifespan. RoG seems to wrap the entire game up quite nicely, and knowing Klei, they wouldn't make a DLC for just one or two new characters. Honestly, at this point, I can't think of anything else Don't Starve could use.

...Meh...With this news, I don´t really see the point in playing anymore =/

I mean, why do we even have Suggestions and Feedback?

They removed the silhouettes at max level ages ago. Wilton was also seen at max level, he was never put in though. It means absolutely nothing, it was just place holder until Klei made a proper screen to display at level cap.

The devs have stated on on the rhymes with play steam that they would love to continue doing more content for dont starve, providing it is financially viable. If you want more dont starve, tell your friends, get em playing too. Dont starve together will be a great opportunity to get them playing

I don't really like the idea of DLC's as updates. As long as they only add content to the DLC's, I'm fine with it. But when they include bug-fixes into DLC's, that's pretty unwise as players would need to pay extra just because there's this one annoying bug in the standard version.

IIRC, there are few minor bug-fixes in the DLC which would be better off also added in the standard game. I hope I'm remembering wrong.

I really don't want the standard game left out because of DLC's. I don't want this game to turn into those crappy games wherein you pay for the game itself but then you need to pay for the DLC's to get 90% of the actual content.

Ain't gonna happen. Klei is not that kind of company.

I know. I'm just trying to say that I think DLC's shouldn't be the only way of adding new content unlike some people in the previous page who think more DLC's are fine.

It's annoying how I can't quote on my phone.
