I think having 2 deserts is pretty common, if not more common, than having just 1.
GalloViking
One sand desert (where goats spawn) per map. Be carefull though, sometimes there aren't goats on the map. In this case, well, there is no way you can find them.

GalloViking
I think that might be the case. Well... This sucks. You can always spawn some with the console in your sand desert...c_spawn("lightninggoat",5) if you wanna spawn five of them. It's not really cheating if you just spawn them in a world without goats. How big are maps? Do they get any bigger than this? Do I have more area to explore?
GalloViking
How big are maps? Do they get any bigger than this? Do I have more area to explore? Depends. I play with "Huge" in world settings. Even if worlds are bigger then usual, well there is still only one (rarely two) sand deserts max.

cosmo
Sometimes there can be 2 of them, one with hound mounds and goats, another with just buzzards, I'm pretty sure you're guaranteed to get the first one all the time..
porps
How big are maps? Do they get any bigger than this? Do I have more area to explore? Untill you have uncovered the entire perimeter of the map, yes you have more to explore. Never assume the worlds end. Maybe you travel to the right of the map, to that swamp which you havent fully explored and find another biome attached to it... maybe you travel north through the rocky biome and find another biome there too. Even at the bottom of the savanna... it looks unlikely that there will be anything there but unless you explore you wont know for sure. Edge the entire map so that you KNOW it's been explored, so that you can see the sea around the coastline when you look at your map.
