PureOpacity
It's not really a big issue, more of aesthetic thing really, but my cobblestone paths don't connect when I place them next to each other. They stay in that little circular shape you get when you only place one. The path still works; my movement speed is increased between them like I'm on a path, but y'know, they're not connected n' all. Anyone else have this problem/know how to fix it? Auth
You might've not removed every bit of the grass. There should be no grass at all when you place the path. If you're trying to connect the natural paths to your paths, that is just plain not possible.

And both pieces of turf that I was trying to join were crafted.

Auth
You might not be placing as much down as possible. The turfs can glitch sometimes and be the size of nickels or something.
Lacost
Your starting camera position isn't facing you the sides of the cubicles turf exists but the corners. So if you are trying to place a road vertical you are actually placing them corner to corner which isn't connecting them. To solve your issue you have to place 2 more cobblestones between the two existing and they will connect. You can easy see the square nature of the turfs by equipping a pitchfork and holding it over a patch of not dug out ground. You are only able to connect turfs by placing them side by side not corner by corner.
Mobbstar
The above in easy (-ier) english: With the normal view (you can rotate it) the paths don't go straight left, right, up and down. They go diagonally. Try digging all turfs around the cobble and place the road one by one. Your pitchfork should also show you the lines.
PureOpacity
Thank you guys so much! I feel silly, but I'm glad I know what I was messing up.
Lacost
Thank you guys so much! I feel silly, but I'm glad I know what I was messing up. Don't feel silly, we learnt it the hard way too. I had to partially destroy my base because my plans for the roads weren't working thanks to that exact issue you have had. I really would LOVE to see Klei implementing a hexagonal turf structure. It wouldn't only look more beautiful it would even fit perfectly with the camera positons.

I personally don't like them most times, only in rare occasions such as Civ.Also, the camera turns by 45°, not 60°... P.S.: I never struggled with the unusual camera angle, but don't get me started on the turf overlap.
