Chronico Posted October 21, 2014 Share Posted October 21, 2014 is there going to be an update regarding charlie? i just got the game (having a blast) and went through the wiki for hours just reading about things in the game and i stumbled upon maxwell's backstory. which is depressing as hell. i like charlie as a character and feel that more should be done to her instead of making her a demon that hunts you through the darkness, because i honestly feel sorry for her to suffer like that because of max's dark rituals. maybe after releasing max, theres another "adventure mode" that has you save or maybe even kill her for the greater good. i havent thought much about this idea of mine but might as well tell you guys the outline of my idea about charlie lol. I see no point in having something to rescue Charlie or put her down- besides giving players a fuzzy feeling. Which I feel like that's precisely what Don't Starve is avoiding. Not everything has to have a solution. Maxwell dun' goofed. And I don't think this is a goof to be ungoofed. Besides: Charlie is an important mechanic to the game. And if she's fast enough to flee the instant you put on a light, I doubt you'd even get a chance to poke her with a long stick, much less chase and hit her. What would happen at night with no Charlie there to kill you if you're not prepared? I also feel bad for her but her character is the most important in the game as the night creature. Siglerman Posted October 22, 2014 Share Posted October 22, 2014 I can agree with you on that, I believe we should get a update were we free everyone and basically escape from the shadow monsters, and as far as continuing after that is a big No, because not having charile would ruin everything,( so basically after adventure mode, it"ll play back like normal don't starve, I guess Freemode?) but I honestly feel like we can get something in the game, maybe some type of Shadow Boss at the end who we defeat for our freedom and also get some epic ending scene, rather then our current Ending we have and also the game isn't technology finished so who knows what Don't Starve Together might have that could surprise us..so hopefully Klei will add more story into Don't Starve.
