Torque injectors

Recommended Posts

So, I don't know about you guys, but I have yet to understand how the torque injectors works, exactly. The item description reads something like : "This effect triggers when the agent uses an inventory item." From what I understand, any activatable item in the inventory should trigger the augment. However, it doesn't work as described.

I think it would be nice to get some clarification on the topic from the devs, in the meantime I'm starting a list of things that work and don't work with this augment, I'll be updating it whenever I can. Perhaps this way we'll have a better understanding of it and aventually we can find a better description fot it. Contributions welcome and appreciated.

This is all as of last build (october 14th).

Works

-Manually hacking consoles, also works with Internationale's remote access.

-Banks' custom paralyser (I will assume all paralyzers work)

-Med Gel : It didn't prompt the activation, but it seemed to have restored a bunch of AP to Internationale. Will test further.

-Stim. I tried stim 1, it restored 4 AP, but the injector seemed to have restored 4 as well, instead of three (Internationale went from 1 AP to 9 AP)

-Dr. Xu's modded shock trap (I will assume all shock traps work)

-Reloading (uses ammo)

-Buster chip

Doesn't work

-Dr. Xu's implant (disable device for a turn)

-Neural disrupter (tested 1 and 2)

-Internationale's wireless emitter

-Shalem's gun (I will assume no gun works)

-TAG Pistol. At this point I think anything that uses an attack does not interact.

Random

-When running, the injectors will give 6 AP instead of 3. Pretty neat, might be a bug?

-If an event causes you not to get the PWR when hacking a console, you won't get the AP either. One time I failed to hack a security program and the injectors didn't trigger, another time I got some bank account info and it triggered.

I have to admit that I don't understand how manually hacking consoles has anything to do with inventory items. I'm also not sure wether this is a bug or not, but I assume it's not, since having this augment work with cloaking rigs and neural disrupters would render chameleon movement and predictive brawling useless.

Thoughts?

Update 22-10 : Just had two runs with the injectors on Internationale and then Shalem, tested a bunch of stuff.

Yeah I remember finding it once and trying it. I have no idea how it works either (I think I tried it with neural disruptor and a keycard without much success, I'm not sure though).

If you can find its exact name in the save file I could try to add it to an agent and mess around with it, see what works and what doesn't.

I'd love to hear from the devs on this one as well.
