  1. 1. Should werebeaver woodie drop a pelt if he is killed?(edit +4 choices)

    • Do I see a Cruella de Vil?
    • No, poor Woodie!!!
    • Werebeaver sould be OP so it should be hard to get.. but yes.
    • Yes, so much dapperness! So much sanity! I AM THE KING OF WINTER!!!
    • Yes, but your sanity should decrease because you're now a mad hatter (or because u skinned a werebeaver)
    • Well it would be realistic...
    • if the drop was verry rare then maybe woodie wouldn't be hunted so much :D
    • Other opinion
    • I don't care do whatever you want klei
    • It could be a mod but not in the main game! D:
  2. 2. If so, how rare should the drop rate be?(drop rates can be found on wiki)

    • Werebeaver should be an op Boss monster so it should have a 100% drop rate
    • 50% like monster meat from a spider
    • 33% drop rate like a catcoon tail or beefalo horn
    • 25% drop rate like silk, spider glands and volt goat horns
    • 20% like beardhair from a beardling, red/blue gem from red/blue hound
    • 10% like a Shelmet from a slurtle
    • 12.5% like hound's teeth from a regular hound (not winter or fire hounds)
    • 2% like butter from a butterfly or 1% like gears from a tumble weed
    • 0.04% - 0.01% like your chances of getting gems from a tumbleweed
    • Other opinion

...Thats a verry nice full body bigger than me beaver pelt you have. It would be a shame if someone were to make dapper clothes out of you. Basicly, I just remembered that the most popular pelts during the fur trade were thick fluffy worn-for-a-year-by-a-sweaty-native winter beaver pelts (the native american part was, or atleast i think it was, because their sweat naturally removed the outer coat protecting the fluffy undercoat and I think tanned it a bit without the use of mercury or something so that you didn't have to become a mad hatter.) The beaver hat was verry popular (and thus verry dapper and expensive.) They were felted and made into top hats (unless you prefer the beaver fur itself beign a hat, unfelted, with a tail on the back.) We have a coon cap so I'd think woodie's full body pelt would be a great prize (if you could kill him while a werebeaver/ if he was implemented into the game with a pelt to drop/if you got it to drop.) Though that might give chase to woodie hunting every full moon, idk how that would work out. (it would work out with rare drop rates nvm) What do you guys think?

Why, Maxwell, what a dapper coat you have! It has a verry fluffy collar. What ever is it made of?Winter_maxwell.png (it's probably too white to be made of beaver fur but it sure is nice. maybe beefalo fur. or thick fur(RoG.) or magic)

Think about you are Deerclops. Wandering around and doing your stuff by destroying some trees and rocks. And suddenly some 3 little creatures with sharp thingies and something looking like black sand just rushed at you. Those meanies killed you and now your post-life is full of eternal sadness. This is how would Woodie feel (and think about Lucy! What would she though about you!).

Or you could just steal all his possessions (including Lucy!) that he drops when he  turns into a werebeaver. That'll teach him not be so loco in the coco when the moon is full! With the reduced damage versus fellow survivors Woodie might seem less OP in reality than he is in theory right now.

I dunno what to think about the pelt idea, images of Woodie-farms come to mind, where 3 werebeavers are trapped in a pen and a Wilson equipped with a lot of blowdarts going to town on them...

Sorry for the late reply guys  :frog:

Yeah being hunted down and ganged up upon for your drops would fill your post-life with eternal sadness, but the tradeoff is probably being a werebeaver and eatin all your enemy's berry bushes, grass tufts and sticks, and gnaw down all their structures. You might be hunted down for your drops anyways if you have an eyebone depending on how many eyebones are in the server. Or anything that someone wants that you happen to have.

I can't say that this would actually work in the game. If Woodie was playing co-op with other people he could just die 4 times and everyone would have coats for winter.

That does sound exploitable. Maybe it could be a 1 or whatever # you want % drop then, like the elusive  butter used to make teh legendary waffles instead of a guaranteed drop like a boss item

yeah I guess a woodie would drop all his stuff come the full moon, so if you have enemies you'd have to live somewhere seeeeecret. As for reduced damage versus other survivors, it would prevent a werebeaver from reckign you all of the time if you're prepared, but he could still eat all your berry bushes, saplings and grass tufts, then deconstruct your base. As for the woodie farms as mentioned above, a solution would be to make the pelt drop verry rare, and introduce all woodies to street (or road) smarts. Sit down and ask yourself: does that pen look like a trap? Can I gnaw through those walls worse case scenario? is there an armord character with boomerangs, sleep/fire/blow darts, ice/fire staff, pan flute or other powerful weapons nearby? Should you eat this mandrake(soup)? etc...

Woodie never dies as werebeaver, he is only knocked unconscious. That is the only reason I am aversed to this. I wanted to make feety stew out of long pig.

I swear my red lord, your avatar is the creepiest thing I've ever seen in my life

Same here.  At first I was like "yeah he should drop a pelt."  But the more I thought about it I realized "wait he doesn't die in werebeaver form!"  I think no drop is best, plus you can steal all his stuff from where he changed.

I've thought of 1 'solution' so far:

What happens when the werebeaver is "knocked out" (log meter reduced to 0.) I assume his werebeaver form just expires and he needs until tommorrow to recuperate, so he plays dead until then to stay safe. When he 'expires' while he is being attacked by an agressive mob, the mob stays in place untill he wakes up as Woodie, thus the mob discovers that Woodie isn't dead and then becomes agressive again.

(tl;dr)Maybe if a player in specific 'kills' him he can actual-die (the player finishes him off when he plays dead, he become a ghost,) because if you wouldn't be fooled by a berry hat disguise then you'd notice when the werebeaver just drops to the ground and doesn't despawn or drop anything.

The werebeaver should keep his defence and attack values (damage equivalent to tentacle spike, hide absorbs dammage like a log suit) instead of beign balanced out for pvp to give you a fighting chance to compensate for the actual death part when a player kills you, though be at a disadvantage if the player has a weapon better than a tentacle spike and log suit or better, though if the werebeaver has prepared some dropped logs in advance or has a friend with logs he can replenish his log-meter.

The thing with this though is if the werebeaver just 'plays dead' in the wild after his meter is depleted and a player with bad intentions just walks along, he has control of weather the werebeaver lives or dies, though the werebeaver should have had a plan and returned to base to recuperate where his friends can guard his body (sorta like sleeping in a bedroll at night.) Don't you say "what if Woodie doesn't have any friends to protect him at base?' cuz this is Don't Starve TOGETHER, and if you know your going to be alone you can pick any other character.

A fight without the promise of a reward would be pointless (other than his stuff droping after he goes beaver, but that can be prevented by storing before you transform.) A guaranteed drop would be exploitable, so there should be a small percentage of pelt drop, along with some other reward from defeating the werebeaver (maybe a werebeaver related item that's less OP than a pelt (like a BeaverTail pastry, but that isn't verry realistic) or a sanity boost, or beaver teeth, or maple syrup...)

Unless you're all ok with there being no incentive to kill woodie as a werebeaver with just a rare pelt drop rate, and judging by all the no votes the majority doesn't want incentive to kill werebeavers.

If the werebeaver had a drop, nobody would want to play as Woodie, because everybody would hunt him.
