A possible way to make rocks and flint renewable (until caves happen)

Recommended Posts

I suggest that as a ghost, you might be able to haunt gold nuggets. Doing so could have these effects:

50% nothing happens

20% the nugget becomes 3 pieces of rock

20% the nugget becomes 3 pieces of flint

5% the nugget becomes ash

2% the nugget becomes a red gem

2% the nugget becomes a blue gem

1% the nugget becomes a purple gem

Rather risky. Problem is also that the gold will run out eventually. An improvement on the idea is to add a chance of the gold multiplying into 3 or 4 pieces of gold.

Nope. Gold is a renewable resource, as the Pig King produces it in infinite number.

Not really. As long as you have meat, you can trade it to the Pig King for gold. Specifically Monster Meat. 1 jerky of that is 1 gold. It'd be time consuming, sure, but it is an option.

Gold comes from Pig kings, you can trade meat for gold. No problem there.

Rocks become rare after some time, but come from glaciers during winter and in caves during earthquakes. BUT!

Rocks are used in crafting of Healing Salve that serves as a good non spoiling HP regen similar to Honey Poultice, but reeds are renewable and rocks are not. This makes Honey farms in swamps viable and spider farms in any other biome not viable. This because reeds can be freely farmed and rocks just end up.

What i suggest is adding a small volcanic vent or fissure that "grows" like a small volcano (like a tree) and can be mined, such volcans would be static renewables similar to reeds and would exist in caves, on deserts or even a new volcanic biome.

After playing a good amount of time, 300 odd hours i discovered that this game is made in such a way that evey Biome has advantages and disadvantages, but at the end every biome makes you prosper if you know how to live in it and use it.

Moving closer to my point, my experience tells me that by far the only biome tha is not worth living in is desert, and i feel that it should not be that way. Thats why it would be great having someting like that.

I like the idea of a volcanic item that is renewable, it could also have a chance of containig  gems and possibly other materials that make sense. They could alos do something where the item would randomly erupt destroying erverythig in a large area but leaving a large amount of recourses afterwards and once it erupts it becomes like a mini cave that can be entered and mineed, if yu can survive.

I imagine that it could be quite a dynamic feature if used correctly

How about when a boulder is mined and it drops its loot, it leaves behind a permanent pile of rubble. You can continue to mine the rubble, but it drops only a small number of items each time its mined. It's would be more time efficient to find another nearby boulder and mine that instead, but if you had no other choice you could slowly mine the remains of old boulders. It also has the advantage in being easy to implement.
