Mod Banned from Steam Workshop

Recommended Posts

Hello guys, some of the old members might remember me from the Brazilian Portuguese mod. I'm a professional translator and I've been localizing Don't Starve since beta. Turns out that I've just received a message from Valve stating that my mod was banned due to terms of use violation. After over a year and almost 5,000 satisfied subscribers and a 5 star-rating (only positive comments too), I get this.

I tried contacting Valve, but first I wanted to make sure this wasn't something directly related to Klei or whatnot. Now, I find myself astonished by what has just happened. I believe someone is deliberately trying to sabotage my work and I wanted to see if some of you guys could shed some light on the subject. What part exactly in the terms of use could my professional localization be characterized as a violation.

Anyways, sorry for bothering you with this issue, but I have no one else to go to.

Sorry I wasn't clear enough, a few months ago some people started a campaign against my mod just because I asked my channel followers for donations and I was promoting a raffle through it. Followers who were already using my translation freely and I would never charge for its use. Apparently some administrator of a Don't Starve facebook group thought I was "stealing money through my mods" that I was "charging for services". A localization that, as you may have noticed, I have already been providing for free since beta and was already completed and, of all things, people loved it.

You are going to want to contact Steam support. If you had any type of message anywhere asking for donations for your workshop item, or for continued work on your workshop item, you may want to make sure you remove it.

If they determine that it's not a violation any longer, they may unban it for you.
