Hawx541
I don't know, because players could make super OP characters. But you know, modded characters. But I hope with the mods as a server operator you can decide what mods to enable. But if you mean customize how they look then there would be no specialty? And if you made it so you can choose one of the current game's player's specialities, it still wouldn't make since because Willow's light when your not Willow? Or Lucy when you not Woodie? Maximum124
If they allow mods, theres no reason for this since we already have character creation through them.
LND
No thanks. If they allow mods, I hope there will be no in-game option to create a character. I don't get the point at all. There's already fancy characters. Let it be what it is right now, please. Let's make this game NOT so rubbish and MC etc. Overall.
Left4Gamer
Seriously... this is not necessary. We already have the "custom characters" to download here in the forums and in Steam Workshop, Don't Starve Together will suport mods, and that means that it will support custom characters, if you want to create an character then go on, you can do it now. They are mods and that's better than have an "Character Creator" integrated to the game, because as I said, that's not necessary. If it was they would already made one for singleplayer. If you're not satisfied with the Don't Starve characters, then do yours. It wouldn't be easy even if there were a tool for that.
the truthseeker
Actually, it's not clear if all players don't have the mod if the mod works in DST or not. Personally, having a bunch of stock powers we can choose several to customize a character from sounds cool, like the "Alien" from Star trek'as MMO in character creation. It would make sense if all the players need the mod to works. The files must be somewhere. Or maybe you can install the mods in the server file (If there will be one) and when the player joins your server he will automatically download the mods, just like it is on Gmod
Pyromailmann
Here, to save time here's a simple explanation.No. Klei confirmed mod support and that it can give more variety to gameplay (with all the character mods these days...) I see no need for character customization. This would fit Don't Starve's tone, yes. But does it I fact make sense? Does sacrificing the "W" trend make it worth making a character? No. Specifically not for me.

nedpeople
Well, I like this idea somehow but in order to prevent a op character problem, I think we should be able to create only our appearance not the attribute, for example, if you need Maxwell's ability but you don't like his appearance so you render your new character appearance in the new way like tall, handsome and a skinny (because Maxwell face always scare me ) but you need to pick the ability that already have in this game . DarkReaper115
Not necessary but it would be neat. Also, to avoid OP characters, custom characters like this would have no traits at all.

Tamazacat
I wouldn't mind the idea of customising a character - but I don't like character creation, as such.
Syteros
Maybe you would be able to make a character without any really special attributes but you have a certain number of points,( I think it's 350 or something) and you would put these points on hunger, health, and sanity. Thoughts on this?
The Letter W
Maybe as far as slight colour alteration so if there's an entire server of Wolfgangs you can tell who is who. Any more than that and you might as well just use a mod and save yourself the trouble.
Flare2V
Just a quick psa, if you're going to create a poll, don't add little tiny descriptions to the end of an answer. All people want is "Yes" "No" or any small option, as wording at the end will effect their decision. If they want to voice their opinion, they can do it here. I voted "No" because I didn't want Klei to spend their valuable time working on the character creator, but I don't think it would ruin the game.
