New set piece ideas

Recommended Posts

So here are some ideas for some set pieces to add to the game.

Gem Trap

In this trap, there would be a red, blue, yellow, orange, or green gem on a piece of carpeted flooring, surrounded by evil flowers. Taking the gem would cause 4 nightmare lights to come up out of the ground next to the character. They will spawn one shadow creature each and the player must kill them for the lights to go back into the ground. If the player does not kill the shadow creatures, they will despawn after 2 minutes and the nightmare lights will return underground.

Gobbler Trap

There would be one berry bush surrounded by stone walls, but leaving some entrances. If the player picks the berry bush, the bush will wither away and drop 2 twigs, and then a wave of 5-10 hostile Gobblers will spawn and attack the player.

Night Trap

There would be a chest with fireflies surrounding it. Opening the chest would cause the time to skip to night. Inside the chest there will be 2 torches and enough materials to make 1 campfire.

Wormhole Trap

There will only be 2 of these traps in the world, never 1. Each trap would have a wormhole on checkered flooring, and there would be marble pillars at the corners. Coming close enough to the wormhole so that it opens would cause 2 clockwork knights and a clockwork rook to jump out and attack the player. Jumping into the wormhole in one of the traps will take you to the other trap. After either of these traps have been triggered none of them will trigger again.

How could I improve them?

The gem trap is too complex. Try something simplier, like: pick up the gem, 2 Terrorbeak appear. It should also be a set piece for the ruins, not the overworld.

Gobbler trap. Hostile gobblers don't exist. And it's a boring concept.

Night trap: you should think outside of the box!

Open a chest, boom! night.

No...that's just boring and unoriginal.

Wormhole trap: I just don't see the point. Also there is no reward for triggering it.
