Excuse me, kind sir, but you look like somebody who doesn't know what to do, be it boredom or confusion. Is that the case? Well, then I am happy to present you: The new mod for...

post-390644-0-45494400-1405869828_thumb.

This machine is capable of judging your appearance, needs and surroundings, in order to calculate the perfect advice! Accomplishing said task will help you to both delicious and nutritious meals, as well as glory and treasure!

Most recent strides in technics allow this machine to optimize resource refination, granting you astounding rewards for achieving certain tasks, hence its name!

Sounds like it's unhinging heavens gates for you, right? "Where's the hitch?", I hear you ask. "It's not all roses." There is justifiably no occasion to doubt this contrivance's functionality!*

The Quest Giver runs almost entirely with the mechanical energy of throwing the lever. That means it effectively does not require any kind of fuel!

Inherently, your concern may be the handling requirements. The Quest Giver can operate in darkness, sunlight, siberian/russian/nuclear winter, ozone hole, underwater, fire, concentrated webbing, the long and the short of it, any enviroment!

This Antikythera works like a charm! You would have never been able to tell what is knows!

Should you still be sceptical, let ardent users advocade the Quest Giver to you:

Everything started as a stroll. You gotta have insight, know what you want. You gotta have a Quest Giver. Like I tell anybody, if you fail to plan, you're planning to fail. I've been doing it's things ever since I was a youngster. You've got to start from somewhere. There's nothing wrong or demeaning in flipping hounds. It's more precise than planning yourself.

No! I don't need anybody's goddamn advice! I'm gonna search every inch of this town and anybody who interferes will be brought up to my Quest Giver, got that?

If you're going to suggest I try dropping twenty feet down a pitch dark tower without consulting my Quest Giver first, you can forget it!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Develop your own Quests!
If you thought just utilising this fabrication is splendid, then you're right! But expanding it is even more stupendous! And you get full credit for your opus as well!
It goes without saying that more than one road lead to rome. Howbeit you follow the one or the other tutelage, others can recieve your quests.
Send your notion!
The by far most incomplex way is to propose the quests, by posting them to this address.
Upon incorporation it will be avaible to anyone!
Respect that submitting twice does not increase the likelyhood of integration, at best.
Craft a Plug-On!
Using the annexed sampling, you can staple an optional extension together. You can affiliate that with another product of yours facilely. Anyone who implements your amplification will hear your advice! Should problems occur, please contact this address.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

"But where can I get this marvellous invention of genius?"

Right here! -> COMMISION <-

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
For almost all remaining ambiguities:
"How do I aquire my Quest Giver after ordering it?"
Carry the necessary components together! It's not rocket science, altbeit it is under science.
"How do I use my Quest Giver?"
Pull the lever! No fuel is required, no annoying formulars must be responded!
"Why would I want this? I know how to make the big cash."
But being rich is boring! Also, you wouldn't read this far if you weren't interested.
"My Quest Giver is stuck with an impossible/too hard quest!"
Did you try turning it off and on again? Since it is an analog machine, "turn off" means hitting it really angrily and "on again" means attaching the parts that flew off, if not rebuilding it whole.
"Can I suggest a quote?"
First, check the questman.lua in the back of your Quest Giver, if there is already something in the way you imagine it. If there is not a very similiar quote, send a personal message to the contact provided.
"What is dummymod for?"
That is a sample for adding quests using a mod. It's not interesting to you if you don't have a mod you'd like quests for.
"Where did you learn those fancy words? And why aren't you using them now?"
The ecstatic multi-linguistic dict.cc helped me find hardly understandable synonyms. This FAQ should stay simple though.
*Quest Giver may not prioritise vital needs over minor annoyances.
Notice: I don't actually work on this mod anymore. I don't expect anyone to care either. In fact, how and why are you reading this? Please don't necro, send me a personal message. Good day sir!
Big update! version pre 2.0 open beta
This one adds actual, rewarding, but still uncompromising quests! The rough quest system, rather.
See the changelog on the download page.
And sorry for necro-ing. Consider it a call for help!
I am trying to add a "theme" system as well, but can't get it to work (see the mod for reference, it's commented out). If you think you know how to help me, reply here, at the download page or via personal message!
EDIT: By theme I mean changing the build. I can't check for the selected option from the prefab file. Is there a workaround?
I've found a sort of bug, I'm not sure if this is the place to post it, but, oh well: For some reason it keeps telling me to "go nuts, go totally insane". I did it so it'd change the message, it gave me a lot of nightmare fuel (which I didn't need, I think), almost died of night crawlers went back to full sanity, asked the quest giver, and again "go totally insane"... For science, I went totally insane again, gave me a bunch of nightmare fuel and instead of going to full sanity before asking I asked again, and it gave me the same message, clicked again, more nightmare fuel, died of night crawlers xD
I was playing with the Firestarter, and sometimes instead of activating the quest giver it said sth related to "I wish it asked to set fires" or something like that. To be fair, I was running from the crawlers, so maybe that was due to distance.
Thank you for the feedback.
Regarding the sanity dance quest: Your Quest Giver clearly saw a great way to generate nightmare fuel from your madness. The issue where it'd prioritize rare materials over bare survival is a long standing one, reproduction is sadly not possible by the looks of it. Maybe you're more lucky next time.
Regarding the fire: You said you were a pyromaniac, right? Most likely the character wished for fire, rather than the machines. It takes a while to recharge, in that time one can just examine it, until useage is allowed again.
Hi! I tried out your mod (I really like the concept, it's great for a game like this) and got a crash the first time I tried to activate the Quest Giver. I was playing as Wendy, it was night of day 7 on a Default Plus start, Reign of Giants *not* activated (though I do own it). Here's the error message I got:
pyr92h4.jpg?1
I tried loading the game again, built the Quest Giver again (the latest save was before I had built it) and it worked fine, asked me to capture a Killer Bee.
Let me know if I can get you more info somehow!
Seems like I forgot to test a unique bit of advice... oops
I fixed the bug in my local version, maybe I'll need to push the update as a hotfix before I can find a solution for the other problems.
Thank you very much for your feedback, the error screen was very important. :wickerbottomthanks:
Update!
2.0 is now fully out! Check out the new quest system, you can toggle it or the old one off (using the mod configurations in the mod select screen)
This update adds some more quests, so you will be busy for more than five minutes! Who wouldn't love to waste more than five minutes?
Waste more minutes with the new themes! Also under mod configurations!
And when you're done wasting time, make me some berry tea! I worked really hard for this update, almost as hard as if it was a real job...
