Renewable Catcoons

I realize that Catcoons were nerfed because they were too easy to exploit, but I think the nerf took it too far. This is my compromise.

 

Start off with a small number of Catcoons. When spring rolls around for every two Catcoons in the world, one Catcoon has a Kitcoon. The Kitcoon takes until about the next spring cycle to grow up, but once it has it wanders away from it's "mother's" territory and makes it's own hollow stump. Maybe Catcoons in heat could alternate between following you around as an ally and hostility.

 

Or just take off the respawn limit. I think Kitcoons would be adorable, though.

I agree, it does seem like a nonrenewable Catcoon seem to take away all the pleasure of murde... loving them. I believe they are supposed to attack other catcoons to be territorial or something. Prehaps that behavior should be increased and maybe make thier other behaviors (bird killing) less agressive or with a chance of failure.

How about removing the spawn limit, and nerfing their capabilities. Seriously.

 

As much as I adore them as a companion, and admire their ability to leave me sitting on a pile of butterfly wings, morsels, and basic commodities, it is a bit unbalancing for the early stages.
