Go to the pig village in the evening (read: not night). The pigs will have already run to their homes, but the pig king will still be doing some late night reading before drifting off. Go in the pig village at dusk, you will be able to trade with the king as any other character would without having to worry about the other pigs. InaneDugong Posted April 19, 2014 Share Posted April 19, 2014 I'm only going to make this point once, so I want all those agreeing with the OP to listen up closely: there is a bucket load of Lore sitting underneath the Pig King and behind the Spider Queen that hasn't been fully explored by Klei yet--do we want to ruin our story time? As a bit of an indicator that the inverse novelisation of the Spider Queen isn't the Pig King (and vice versa), note that the Pig King is surrounded by Obelisks and therefore is trapped. Maxwell notes at some point towards the end of the Adventure saga that something happened (most likely at Maxwell's hands, but potentially at whatever else is above him) to the Pig King which has him jailed on those Wooden Boards. The Spider Queen is also an interesting addition since, like everything in Don't Starve, there tends to be a novelisation of Good and Evil though the novelisation doesn't always extend to plot. For all we know, the Queen Spider was once related to the Pig King but suffered a different curse/punishment. It wouldn't be a stretch. (Do tell me if someone has picked up on quotes that disproves this). But yeah, the differences between the King and Queen are too notable to make them interchangeable - and you'd be ruining some sweet story.
