'Webber's Origin' Artwork

Recommended Posts

Webber is a recently added unlockable character that is available after purchasing the Reign of Giants DLC.

I looked into him a bit and his origin interested me, he is a young boy inside of a spider.

Here is the first sketch of my own idea of 'Webber's Origin':

PLAN: The boy, being Webber himself, is going to have blond hair and pale skin, his shirt I am not too sure about at the moment.

I will be adding a background to add to the picture, but I'm not sure what it should be.

(Anyone with suggestions is free to comment)

I hope you guys like the idea. There will be plenty of changes, and once I am happy with my final design I will draw it up on my computer and edit it.

Anyone that has ideas is free to share, I will take everything into consideration since I want this to be a very nice piece.

I have drawn up another design, this one being done to a higher quality finish.

This time he is being eaten by a regular Don't Starve spider, unlike the other picture where it looked like he was getting eaten by a humanoid spider. This image shows how Webber became the "Spider-Boy" better than the last.

You can see the boys feet poking out the bottom of the spider as he is being eaten, this represents the legs that Webber has, protruding out the bottom of the spider.

Thanks, more images to come

Awww, dude. This is straight up creepy. Webber creeped me out at the start and you're not doing anything to make it less so.

Making the scenario Webber faced was a sort of monster under the bed gig.

The kid goes running away but the spider stops him by biting his legs and slowly eating him anaconda style...0.o'

Haha well I don't know whether that's a good or bad thing, but I completely agree with you about it being creepy, it creeped me out heaps when I first understood what Webber was. But it also fascinated me (not trying to sound like a complete weirdo), so I just wanted to do something like this.

And who knows, maybe I'll explain it even better by making a comic strip ;)

Oh no, I totally understand. There is a reason horror films and the dark macabre are everywhere in the media--people are naturally fascinated. If you want to make a comic strip, I say go for it. Although, if you can, use computer text for dialogue--many times I have run into interesting comics, but I am unable to read them because I can't read the handwriting or mistakes were made that make the work blurry--just a word of advice...0.o

Also, you can try pen to outline things so they stand out more, yes?

Yeah that's true

If I do make a comic strip the text will all be done on computer, if not most of the comic itself.

And yes, I will be outlining the pictures more.
