Tentacles Mod, Holes Mod

Hey guys,

 

i am thinking about creating a mod about tentacles, tentacle traps and holes for rabbits.

Thats what i want to do:

  • General Ability to dig holes in the ground. (1 Using shovel; 2 using special shovel; 3 using built structure to place somewhere)
  • Put a carrot in a hole to create a rabbithole
  • Put a tentacle spot (+ something else (nightmare fuel)) in a hole to let a tentacle spawn

 

  • Craft a tentacle trap to put on the ground / put in a hole which acts similar to a tentacle but is smaller, deals less damage and doesnt attack the player (needs nightmare fuel, tentacle spike)

My intention was the general limitation of rabbit holes and tentacles in the game (for long matches).

 

What do you think about that?

Here is an idea for the tentacle part of the mod:

 

make it so that when you attempt to kill a tentacle it will have a 5 to 10 percent chance to uproot itself and be able to walk around and attack like a normal tentacle (basicly the creature that is responsible for the tentacle we regulary see comes out of the ground when it takes enough damage) and when you kill the creature it drops tentacle spots and some sort of egg (new item) which can be used to plant a tentacle.

This would add some logic to the fact that you see so much tentacles in the world and the tentacle pillar in the caves is not connected to them. though creating what i just said is probably a lot of work.

This is a good idea. But i think - talking about logic - a monster having a tentacle triple size of the character has to be very huge. At least the strength of a boss monster (treant, deerclops..). And in fact - your version needs a lot of work. You need a new monster brain, lots of textures and stuff. If someone can create those, i could think about adding it.

as for the monster i thought of the creature under the tentacle  having the body and size of a spider and the tentacle being on top it being the biggest part of the monster so the result isnt all that massive, slightly larger than a depths worm but yeah as i said it will require a lot of work. you could try asking mr. tiddles for help if you ever want to try to make this mod, he has a good experience in creating creatures (he made 5 robots) and i could try to help as well

In the ruins, you can see the lower part of the tentacle, and it is GIGANTIC.
