HoneyHam
I just made a divining rod and found the last piece. It's day 150ish, and this world was (Obviously) made before some updates, thus I don't have a lot of stuff(I mean, I do, but I don't have things like Totally Normal Trees). I'll upload some screenshots once I find out how to, so I don't go start a new world and completely screw up and delete everything. I want to survive to at least day 200, and get a Tam and Ruins goodies. Please tell me what I should do?
ARamblingSpider
Why do you need more advice really? It all depends on what you want to do in the world, stay and survive for longer or leave and get the new items, it's your choice.
HoneyHam
I just wanted to know if it was a stupid decision to do it now. Plus I have a sort of thing, like I get really nervous when making big decisions. I have a habit of doing this and asking people for advice before I do something. DeadpanQuinkan
It's just a way to end your run in a more dignified way then just dying to something and you can take some items out of it. Only do it if you hate your world or are close to complete death.
HoneyHam
are close to complete death. Holy crap, speak of the devil, while I was gathering reeds toda-Actually, I shouldn't tell a story.

Starbladek
Sometimes I move on just to get a break from the hound attacks. I hate being away from my base and being paranoid a hound attack will commence with only 30 seconds to rush to my tooth trap arena. I mean, yeah, there's the telelocator stuff now to quickly teleport there in a snap, but ehhhhh... kind of expensive to make.

the truthseeker
Haven't actually left since the update (except once and died due to my not being prepared for continuing winter when I didn't know about the "decided accidental feature they will keep." ) Do hound wave numbers stay the same like the day count in the previous world? Grumpy
Personally, I never go through the Teleportato. Why? Because if you're advanced enough to reach day 150 then you've likely developed strategies that make the game somewhat easy. Once you go over 100 it becomes pretty easy to do it every time. Going through the Teleportato sends you to a similar world with the tremendous advantage of having materials and pre-built structures right from the start. If it was easy enough before, this just makes it incredibly boringly easy. I guess the only way to mitigate that is to go through empty handed, but then why not just start a new world instead? To me the fun part is the early days when you're struggling to find resources and a place to camp. Admittedly though, to others the fun part is building ridiculously complex bases. Those folks may want to use the Teleportato to find a better map without losing all their resources.

If you go empty handed you'll be killed by 10 hounds.
the truthseeker
Days don't reset when going through the teleportato anymore. If you go empty handed you'll be killed by 10 hounds. Continue where their wave number left off? That's what I thought. (Short of doing some sort of crazy WX 15 gear upgrade in multiple worlds which it would be easier to use Adventure mode, Ruins, or leave after the first winter anyway--which is very esoteric for complete playing with all characters.) There is no reason to leave unless i needed (for some dire reason I can't think of) more Mandrake Roots for Pan Flutes/Fireflies/other Ruins items/other non renewable resources. As people have said, it's just easier to stay now. If the hounds were to reset, MAYBE it could have a LITTLE more merit. So Klei developers, any real reason for Sandbox Teleportato anymore? papermoon
i use the wooden thing when i'm bored with the current world map or if i got a 'bad' world map and i don't feel like restarting the day counter.i was around day 250 the 1st time i used wooden thing, suddenly i got attacked by 2 hounds after i landed in a new map and 5 days later around 10 hounds decided to get revenge for their fallen bros, but some pigs and spiders ruined their plan.i didn't like the next 3 worlds after that so i just rushed through them, i stopped at world 5 where i got the best map with lots of frog ponds & beehives, large swamp area, and a good number of killer bee's hives blocking the way to wooden thing.i think the game needs to reward players for using wooden thing, like medal or structure you can only build in world 2, 3, and so forth.not resetting the hound number is a good challange actually, because now you have to deal with lots of hounds without rellying on your 200+ toot traps or turrets, all while exploring new unrevealed terrains & setting up a new base.i remembered using beefalos to deal with 2 hound waves in a new world and i was left with only 2 beefalos in that new world map! so yeah.. it's a good stuff.
