Can we get a composer to do some music for the cloudworld? It seems like something we should do.

I think some people actually mentioned that in the original thread. I'm in love with the idea, myself. :p

 

 

Since the "developer only" thing is just for show i don't see the point in this either...

The people posting should respect that tag. It's more of a 'hey, this is important' indicator than an actual lock, right now. Anyways, the purpose of this is so we can discuss the current general progress of the mod without being flooded with suggestions and other more explicit details of the mod.

My best friend is a composer - and he really wants to do videogame music, so I'm sure he'd be on board, as long as you can afford to be flexible with the time-frame.

He's a busy guy. ^^;

 

Let me know, and I'll pitch the idea to him; see what he says.

I don't know about the others, but I think time isn't anywhere close to an issue. We're currently in prealpha, and the mod has been in open development for almost a month now. The quality of the mod will reflect the amount of work that gets put into it.

 

In other words, that sounds like a fantastic idea.

I'll need some guidelines - the sort of things we need, how long they should be, looping or non-looping... format you need the assets in...

 

I could probably describe the feel we should be going for as a "dreamy, fairytale world amongst the clouds, at the top of the beanstalk" and get the environment across - but the technical details will definitely need to be explained to me, here. ^^;

I get that, and i can appreciate the fact that a fresh more organized and focused thread is a good intention, it's just a tad confusing to have both this thread and the original one serving as General Development threads... One of those needs repurposing.

This one should be used. The other can be archived.

 

Maybe we should get someone to do a 'Recap of the Day', in this thread, to keep everyone abreast of what's going on in the individual threads?

Good news!

My friend says it sounds great, so it looks like we've got a composer on-board! ^^

 

His work is totally rad - I know it's gonna kick some serious butt.

 

Would anyone perhaps have a few choice images they feel illustrate the look and feel of the mod particularly well?

Those are beautiful... and perfect.

He actually doesn't own Don't Starve, yet, so he won't be able to test it out, unfortunately.

 

I've been urging him to get the game since I first released Link. xP

Sucks being broke.

Thinking about trialling this, so this is my plan.

 

I'll start one of these tonight, and we'll see how things progress. I'll be trying to work in 24-hour blocks (it'll probably be a little inaccurate), 10PM - 10PM in GMT. I'll try to only post major developments, suggestions loads of people like, and images and videos. I'll also keep a To do list up there as well. 

 

For example, for yesterday, I would've posted about there being a few interesting suggestions, a mobs art was finished, we had a loading animation, etc.
