The workaround of unplugging the gamepad works for me.
However, I really would like to play with the gamepad.

I additionally noticed that I'm unable to map actions to any gamepad buttons numbered higher than 12 or so. My PS3 gamepad maps the X-O-triangle-square buttons to 12-15, so that makes it very difficult to get a usable button mapping.

    Looking forward to an update!

Can you please ensure you have the latest Linux version of the game?

An updated version of the game which addresses this issue should be available through Humble Bundle.

    Thanks!

    Thanks and Happy Holidays!

In my kernel option «INPUT_JOYSTICK» is disabled. Files /dev/input/js0 or /dev/js0 are missing. Gamepad device is /dev/input/event13(on my system), but Shank always look up, and in menu constantly pressed up key.

I'm not expert here, but did you try to remove that /dev/input/event13 and try to play with the keyboard?

Without this file joystick does not work, and to play with the keyboard is not convenient.

I am using xbox360 controller on linux with xboxdrv and latest shank2 from humblebundle and I have following problems:
When I map movement to left stick, d-pad is still used to move.
D-pad down doesn't seem to work at all, not even in the menus.
Shank always looks up when I dont touch d-pad.
If I press RT or LT (shoulder buttons) they get stuck on +Y or -Z rotation, some issue with range?

This thread has some information regarding this issue as well: http://forums.kleientertainment.com/...-linux-gamepad

The new version is available on the Humble Bundle website now.

Yes, the new version for Linux should hopefully have this issue addressed.

    Thanks!
